My first chromebook and still trying to get use to it. Intermediate user as well. As far as the computer it is lite and very solid. Nice screen and very fast compared to the very old PC I was using. I do like it very much and do that I can get around it more the more I use it. I am 58 and not the sharpest computer wiz. Very nice Chromebook, I must say!

Excellent chrome book. boots fast. it should have had at least one usb port. thunderbolt is too new as an interface. not many options for cable connections. also keys should be black not white. it takes a little while to get used to the key color. The backlight works ok.

A satisfying experience. I'm not knowledgeable about computers: I'm a user with basic, simple needs. The screen colors are vivid and clear. I am used to opening many tabs at the same time and this has not affected computer performance. The computer does start up very quickly once you open it. The keyboard is easy to use, although the feel of the keys is not that precise, but a little spongy-mushy. I'm having a small issue with the voice to text feature which stops when there is a pause in the dictation. Otherwise and so far, (I've had it for about a week!) it's been a great experience.

Unfortunately, this is the second Asus Chromebook I've returned after owning five altogether. I have the same issue with the CX-5 as I did with the C424 I returned a few years ago. For some reason, ASUS designers have decided upon the silver keyboard which is an absolute nightmare if you're working any kind of daylight or heavy lighted situation. It becomes ridiculous trying to find the keys with the glare of the silver keys. Other than that huge issue, the CX-5 hits every right aspect of what I wanted in a Chromebook and was superb to use except for the silver keyboard. I ended up buying an Acer Chromebook with a black keyboard which I've been very happy with. Hopefully, ASUS we'll figure out this huge and ongoing design problem that seems to be brought up in almost every review both by customers and professional reviewers.

Two issues: 1. Battery never lasts more than 2-3 hours before needing recharge. This is while using only low-power apps (browser, email, calendar, etc). I expected 5-8 hours' use per charge when I bought it. 2. When room lights are on I can't clearly see the characters on the keyboard's keys. I have to shade the keys with my other hand while typing in order to see the keys' backlit symbols. So I end up tying in the dark most of the time in order to see the backlit key symbols.

This is pretty good. Performance is quick. Wifi drops alarmingly frequently. I wish the stylus was passive instead of requiring charging as it doesn't have much battery life. Likewise the Chromebook itself doesn't seem to have very good battery life. I am always close to an outlet so it's not a huge issue for me. Overall for it's price I don't think it's the greatest value.
