arrived early and in good condition, product itself was bought to bring new life to an old gaming computer and didn't disappoint.
I have been a long time fan of Asus, but I'm stuck with a lousy Dell, for financial reasons. I had to play Outward on the Potato setting. Thank God, they had a Potato setting ... Anyway ... This thing (PH-GTX1050TI-4G) doesn't even fit into my SFF, BUT I got it to fit into the small pci slot, with the cover off, and I had to use the display port instead of the HDMI, because of the stupid way Dell builds their crap. BUT, now, I am able to play Outward on the Ultra setting, which make my 69 year old eyeballs REALLY happy. I am hoping to, one day, actually a ASUS computer, but until then, I ain't got that Potato to deal with. I love ASUS, man. That company builds the real thing.
The PH-GTX1050TI-4G proved to be an ideal match for my PC which has an ASUS Prime B-365M-A motherboard. My experience with ASUS products for over a year, has been outstanding. At the time of this writing, I just purchased an ASUS PC, as to compliment my experience even more.
Nicely packaged and compact, which was the biggest selling point for me as it is installed into a Desktop Case which is already crowded with 6 hard drives, a video drive, and other plug in cards. I do not do gaming, so the fact that it is "ancient technology" (by current gamer standards) did not matter. My need was for the acceleration of encoding/decoding uses and video enhancement, which it handles quite nicely.
As a very budget gpu that I bought when it first came out (a while ago) I was stunned to see how it could render Microsoft flight simulator and a good fps.
Affordable and can run the latest games.
It's great for some games and its very user friendly specially for someone who don't have budget to buy higher GPU
While this is a good technology solution graphics card manufacturers need to find a solution so they can deliver value. Crypto currencies will be the death of graphics cards. Crypto currencies will soon collapse as a result of Quantum computing but not before killing off graphic card manufacturers along the way. Do these manufacturers not understand that there will be a solution to solve the massive overpricing of graphics cards due to crypto mining? LRH is an attempt to solve the problem but is ineffective. No one is going to mourn the loss of graphicss card companies when they finally die and there are technology solutions to this massive overpricing.
Easy to install, works fine. Not as big of an upgrade as I'd anticipated, but it gets the job done for the price point it was at.
This card is NOT worth $400. This came out about 4 years ago, and at that time had an MSRP of about $200. I had a 1050Ti when it came out. It is an ok card, meant to be an introduction to GPUs. I am mainly writing this to warn people to not buy this card if it is above $250. My rating is for the card in general, not taking the price into consideration.
