Moving from an old 1st Gen AMD Ryzen, to 12th Gen Intel and this board made it easy. Fits my cube case perfectly, all the slots and connections are very well laid out. The board is easily OC'ed and the tools that come with it make managing the firmware, and settings very easy. Great board.
the option to install certain needed drivers through armour crate was nice, and software works well. board has good placement of fan headers. rx 6900 xt and arctic freezer had a very close fit in my particular micro atx case. leaving only less to a mm to spare if not flush to the vrm heatsink. it juuust fit but it works great and am satisfied.
The ASUS PRIME Z690M-PLUS D4 mATX motherboards is a sweet little board. It was time to upgrade my old ROG STRIX Z270G GAMING/i7-7700K system, and my shortlist of boards were the PRIME Z690M-PLUS D4 and the ROG STRIX Z690-G GAMING WIFI. With the current DDR5 availability and pricing, I settled on the PRIME Z690M-PLUS D4 with i7-12700K and Kingston FURY Renegade 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) 3600 MHz DDR4 CL16 RAM. Installed Windows 10 in no time on my new WD Black SN850 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 Gen4 x4 NVMe SSD with zero issues except, as this is a new platform windows could not install the the required drivers for all the devices automatically, but as soon as you get to your desktop, the motherboard informs you that the Motherboard bios contains an ethernet driver which will install, allow you to go online and download all necessary drivers from the ASUS site. AT the moment I am running everything at stock speeds and the benchmarks and stress tests are impressive. Over all I'm happy with my decision to purchase the The ASUS PRIME Z690M-PLUS D4, it has everything I need and performs well.
Solid platform for an i7-12700f. Decent enough VRM and RAM controller as well as an external bclk are good enough for a mild OC. Working on getting macOS installed now, hopefully the TB add in card will play nicely.
Another fantastic motherboard from ASUS! This is my first time buying an ASUS "MATX" style board. I typically purchase ASUS "ATX" motherboards, but this MATX motherboard did not disappoint!
It is cheap, but this doesn't mean it is not good. It has everything a Z690 chipset motherboard should has. But if it supports DDR5 memory, it can be better.
As an early adopter of Windows 11, I wanted to purchase a board that was designed from the ground up with Windows 11 / Intel 12th Generation in mind. This board was the perfect fit for me. Paired with an i5-12600 processor, and RAM from the approved list this system was easy to setup in under an hour. As a long term Asus customer (over 20 years) the BIOS was familiar. The one glitch I had with the install was due to the only flaw I found with the product. The product as shipped is almost identical with the Asus Sabertooth Z87 I bought ten years ago in that it includes only a CD with the product software. Most machines built today do not have optical drives and not everyone has a spare machine to copy the software over. Because of this when Windows 11 does not recognize the network card (purchased copy of Windows 11 Pro), the install is halted. Asus could further improve these products by including a cheap USB thumb (one with a logo would help the branding) with the software. Once I created a thumb drive the rest of the Windows 11 installation was easy. The included software allowed an easy tune of the product. I must confess I also bought this in preparation for my next Asus build and wanted to get all the glitches down on a cheaper system before getting the Maximus. Thank you for a cheap, easy and well built system.
Impressive performance. Only four stars due to complexity of Aura app. Accompanying hardware setup documentation could use more detail, particularly RE need for splitter to hook up more than 1 fan to the Aura controls. Also discovered strong recommendations for SSD heatsinks in third party reviews.
Did not realize that the spacing between air cooler and GPU would not allow for a larger ssd heat sink! I can barely see it anyhow so my RGB V1tech is a bit useless (still don't know if it'll clear because it's in the mail. Other than that, fantastic mATX board. I wish there was more white on it though! Also, mine had left over machining glue in random places. It was easy to peel off though.
Solid budget option, lacks luster, overall quality. You get what you pay for, with that said the overall instillation and setup was a breeze. Paired with 12600k, 32GB(4x8) DDR4@3200MTs, as well as RTX 3070. 2x nvme drives, all went through without a hitch.
