So far, I'm extremely happy with this purchase. I've bought 3 laptops this year and have returned all but this one. In fact, I returned one as soon as the X16 was announced. It does everything I need it to do. Gaming and content creation is a breeze.
This one's a little bit confusing great product but the issue is the mini LED. I think it only comes with a 3090 but I'm not even sure about that because this website says that all of them come a mini LED but that wouldn't be true some of them come with nebula HDR, which is 600 nits 1100 doesn't mean the screen isn't good it's just not what was advertised. I'm not even sure if there's a way to tell if I got mini LED or not still a wonderful choice for a computer or artist just wouldn't give you hopes up on getting the mini LED version of something that the company is not sure about themselves. There's also other versions that exist that are 3060s that have many LED other countries it's just wild. Great product though.
Having owned over 20+ gaming laptops over the last 5 years I can say that the ROG Flow X16 is the best all around piece of hardware I've used. While it won't max games out on high settings it simply checks every single box. It feels premium, runs any game with optimized settings, and the convertible feature is more useful than you could imagine. It's the complete everyday gaming laptop, hands down.
I really like it! It arrived in 2 days (a week early), seller replied quickly to my questions. I set it up, so far I haven't encountered any of the common(ish?) problems people say it has. It's a very beautiful laptop. It comes with a charger and fabric keyboard cover.
If you're interested in this one just shut up and give them your money. You'll get great battery life so you can use it at school but you can game and do everything you'd want to on it. It's a pretty crazy machine with top shelf build quality. You won't be disappointed.
The battery life is better than expected especially when I turn the graphics card off, one thing I noticed is that t gets really hot while gaming, but an external fan solves the issue. The 6000 series Ryzen 9 is definitely fast enough for whatever I want to play. The 3060 built into the laptop is able to play most every popular game on regular settings, however I wish it was slighty better.
Overall, I'm quite happy with this laptop in terms of performance and its appearance, plus its WiFi strength, and battery life are better than my Lenovo that I use for work. There are two things that I'm less than happy with, which are the only reason I couldn't give it a full 5 Stars. 1.) I cannot stand the location of the power button on the right-hand side, because I have accidentally powered off the laptop at least a dozen times when simply picking it up or moving it from my lap to my bedside table. It should either be relocated, or require a longer press to power off. Ideally, I think it should be relocated. This one problem would have probably caused me to choose an alternate laptop when I bought this, if I had realized where it was located at the time. 2.) The display has recently been seeing some "weird" behavior with going almost faded out or over saturated with light. This does seem to mostly happen after long periods of time with a game called Raid Shadow Legends that I often leave running on screen for many hours. However, the display has not gone out, and it isn't readily reproducible, so I haven't taken it in for service. Aside from those two items, I still believe it was a good value for the price. Thanks. Lynn
It's a very good laptop, extremely versatile and good build quality. I needed something with better battery life, a touch screen, and still able to play some games. I did not wish to go all out and get the top-of-the-line model as I did that with another brand. The other machine has an i9 and RTX-2080 Max-Q and this almost keeps up with that laptops processing power and gaming abilities. Don't get me wrong, I could have gotten the 4070 with the mini-led, however for what I need this for, it serves its purpose well. I upgraded the RAM to 64GB and replaced the internal SSD with 2 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD's and this machine runs like a complete beast.... for its specs. If you are gaming, remember to prop it up or use a cooling pad as it does run hotter than usual and with the folding screen and small rubber feet, if not propped, you get thermal throttling. Overall, it's a solid build, great monitor, and only downside for me is the keyboard.... two issues that I have. Coming from a 15.6 with a full keyboard including number pad it's a bit of an adjustment. I would rather this laptop include a number pad. Other issue is the RGB on the keys. When sitting with the laptop on a table, the RGB bleeds out from under the lights, and it appears that each key is underlined. Easy enough, just turn off the RGB and it works great. I highly recommend this model line if you need something for work and play.
Started off great but less than 10 days it started giving off a blue error message. I could not box that baby up fast enough to return it! I'm happy it gave problems so early because I could have been stuck with it. I didn't like how hot it got despite the fan running pretty hard.
Had this laptop for exactly 12 days. Updated the machine because windows, and then the wifi adapter vanished. Tried to find an online fix, no dice. Tons of complaints, no support. Tried absolutely everything I knew on how to fix the issue but got nowhere. Refunded product and going to just purchase something else that can survive more than 12 days.
