This is a hard mouse pad with a textured surface and a lighting accent around the edge. I am using the Asus Armory Crate software to control the lighting, and it works just fine. As this is a mouse pad, there aren't a lot of features. I do want to point out that the power pass through is quite conveniently placed. The only other thing that stands out to me is in the Armory Crate software for my Asus ROG Chakram X mouse. In the settings for the mouse, you can specify the mouse pad you are using. The Balteus mouse pad is in the list and it tells the mouse exactly what kind of surface it is looking at. You'd be surprised at how big a difference it makes. I noticed slightly smoother movement and MUCH higher accuracy after I initiated this setting.

No complaints! Helps with accuracy. Lights look amazing!

By far this has to be the BEST gaming mousepad I have EVER owned. The Hard top just feels RIGHT, it feels like it makes my mouse more accurate, idk if that's actually a thing, and the RGB is vivid and beautiful, and has many awesome effects! THe USB passthrough port is infinitely handy, especially if you have a wireless mouse like me, quick access to a charging cable and viola! If you Aura Sync it with Armory Crate and your computer's lighting, it really is an experience! I don't have a single bad thing to say about this mousepad!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Asus really out did themselves with this RGB mouse pad! Smooth and bigger than I thought! It pairs really well with my Chakram Core.

I settled on the ROG Balteus initially because I wanted to use with Aura Sync. After more checking I determined that I did not a game pad with multiple USB and other items since those are more things that can fail and go wrong. This mouse pad has one USB built into a hefty header assembly which incorporates a button for manually changing the lighting scheme. From this assembly is a sizeable pair of USB cables wrapped in a para-cord jacket. The pad is more deep than wide and my mouse easily glides over the surface. Handling this pad, I can feel and see a quality item. Also, I am not one to mention packaging, but in this case this item's packaging was even top notch. Unless the box comes crushed there should be no way this item could come damaged from shipping. One surprise was that the ASUS mouse and pad can be paired through Asus' Armory Crate which is a nice touch that shows someone considered the affects of the mouse pad on the mouse movement. All in all, a nice add to my system.

This pad turned out to be much much larger than I expected to be.. but man, oh man, do i love it! The texture takes some getting used to, but feels nice, and lighting is just awesome, especially if you create your own Lighting with Aura Creator! So totally NOT disappointed! Love it!

Plugged in, installed kit and drivers through ARMOURY CRATE, seemed to be working fine with AURA SYNC. But then after 8 hours it died. USB Passthrough was still working but RGB was totally dead. Searching online revealed this is a common problem, Reddit threads documented many people with this issue but no readily apparent solution was provided by ASUS. Most folks returned the product, as I did. That being said, the remaining physical quality of the mousepad was very nice. I liked the hard surface and the non-slip backing. Also, be sure this thing will fit on your desk, it's about 12" x 14" and I admit that didn't quite register with me when I bought it. If ASUS can figure out what's causing these immediate mortality issues it'd be a good product. But until that happens I can't really recommend.
