X13 flow

Matin July 30, 2021

Fantastic laptop, low profile light weight but can be a beast with the 3080 dock that has additional power which makes it as powerful as a desktop pc. Hope asus continue supporting this product and even update the dock every few years to have more up to date spec.

The Flow X13 Supernova is a giant among ultrabooks

Maxodonis August 8, 2021

This is literally the computer of my dreams. It's got functionality, power, and form factor for days… And it's smaller than my old work laptop. It boots in less than 10 seconds so I never have to miss out on the action. Seriously, the best purchase I ever could have made.

Slim, powerful, understated

Daniel IDG July 30, 2021

As an architect & developer I needed something powerful, portable, & professional. This checked all the boxes & some I didn't even know I needed. The 3080 is powerful enough to handle any rendering I throw at it, & the CPU barely breaks a sweat with most design programs. If you need to be at a multitude of different places through out the day, & you need something that's going to preform well no matter the roll it takes on: look no further.

Would perfect if it had Thunderbolt

Rakesh Malik March 8, 2022

This is a great machine for portable gaming. Its performance is excellent, and it handles 6K and 8K Redcode with aplomb in Mistika and Resolve. It can run Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 4K. The only flaw is that lacking any Thunderbolt port, there's no way to use it in a color managed workflow, which is a major hindrance for using it in film post production.

Great computer for my need. Portable and powerful with the XG Mobile. Expensive, but worth the prise.

As close to no-comprises as you can get

Dh88 August 6, 2021

It's fast, it's portable, it's convertible. It's probably as close to a no-compromises laptop as one can get, but there are still a few compromises. The 4k 60Hz monitor makes for a gorgeous image, but does not handle motion as well as I had hoped. A higher refresh rate model might be a better pick for the screen, despite the 4k model's slight advantage in color space. Secondly, the screen on my unit has warped a little with extremely light use. This does not functionally affect the laptop or the experience during use, but is visible when the laptop is closed as a gap between the bottom center of the screen and the lower chassis. Lastly, you cannot just unplug and go as you could with a larger laptop that has an internal GPU. You have to first disable the eGPU in software, or risk crashing applications that were using the GPU or, though I have not experienced one myself, blue screens. It isn't the right computer for everyone, but for those who need a high performance machine to drive a desktop setup that can also travel with them on the go and convert to a pen tablet, there is no other comparable offering on the market and I have already recommended it to friends.

Great device with some QA issues.

nickburnsap August 7, 2021

Great device that works perfectly for my needs, great for game development, graphic design, gaming and just general productivity workloads. But I had several issues with the XG Mobile, had to RMA it twice due to malfunctioning ports (DisplayPort, Ethernet, USB As).

The first attempt is not a full success

Artsiom December 20, 2021

Idea was excellent, but implementation is far from that. I have BSOD 1-2 times a week due to hardware problems and there are limitations to 30 fps in Silent mode in many situations despite graphic card usage is under 50%. Hope next generation won't have such child diseases.

Flow X13 GV301QH-XS98-B

Warc1 September 12, 2021

Had an issue with the first laptop I received in that the external XG Mobile unit containing the RTX 3080 would not detach after initially attaching. The vendor took it back and replaced it in a couple of days and the replacement has not repeated this issue in the three months that I've had it. Otherwise, it works as advertised. Has the same form factor as my Microsoft Surface Pro 5 but is far more powerful. Adding the XG Mobile device brings the computing power to be near that of my desktop. I'm using this mainly for photo and video editing on the road using Lightroom and Vegas Pro. I use the just the computer in the field to check the capture results and then plug in the XG module when back at base to edit the day's captures. Works wonderfully. Back home, I use the device to display the results on my 85" 8K TV. While the mobile RTX 3080 does not support HDMI 2.1 for 8K @ 60hz, it does support HDMI 2.0b for 8K@30hz so I can display stills and videos at native 8k resolutions.

Xg mobile is bad

Lostinnate December 20, 2021

I have had to send this laptop in for rma 3 times. I am about to send it for a 4th time. the flow x13 laptop is great, it's the xg mobile that fails. I had the xg mobile connection get stuck in the laptop twice(current issues). I had the xg mobile fail it still worked has a power brick but the graphics part no longer functioned. Asus support is great and has already extended the warranty for my laptop.
