It's a great motherboard with exceptional features that help future proof this computer. This was the best option I could find for lots of Thunderbolt and hard drive bandwidth. I Have two mechanical drives for long term bulk storage, but my OS and data drives are Samsung NVMe SSD 980 Pro drives and the performance of this computer makes me hate using the computers at work. I also love the BIOS and support features of ASUS motherboards.
USB C should be facing the same direction for both front panel headers. tried 90 degree but still couldn't get the GPU in there. Vertical mounting would work but I have a second MOBO tray in the Corsair 1000D case. Also maybe put a power on the EAST side? My runs are maxed out from the MOBO.
Best looking and performing Extreme board yet! Very heavy as heatsinks really do a great job on keeping everything cool. Running an 11900k and 3080 TI with 32gigs of G.SKILL at 4000Mhz. For benchmarks got it running at 5.2ghz. For everyday use the AI overclock works great. I run 3 Rog Swift 1440p monitors on a racing Sim with this rig. Playing ACC on Epic settings getting 85fps.No issues no complaints you get what you pay for!
Great Motherboard lots of features and options, only issue is the display on the m.2 ssd heat sink near CPU is flaky, I can reboot and it works for a while, the it either quits displaying anything or it displays scrambled trash other than that great MB.
Motherboard is top notch, flawless setup, flawless performance, over clocked no issues with a i9 11900. Stable, software roll out flawless, it's as expected from asus. Trusted brand!
Phenomenal mother board. Very easy to install, has all the latest and greatest features you could want or need and the upgraded software to overclock the Intel chip is very easy to use.
After having no luck with the ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial board (actually tried two of these boards and would not even give them a single star, but that's a review for another time). I decided to try the ROG Maximus XIII Extreme since it has the same features without the monoblock. I had an initial issue booting the board after following the manuals suggestion to jumper the LN4 jumper to pins 2-3 to overcome a known bug that could cause an unstable boot. I could not get the board to post. I switched the LN4 jumper to the default setting (pins 1-2) and viola the system booted. I have had zero issues booting with the default settings and the board runs supper fast. One stand out feature is the card implemented M.2 drive bus. Supper convenient and gives you quick access to two M.2 drives with the ease of installing a stick of ram. Completely satisfied with this board and recommend it to everyone looking to build a high end gaming system. Note: If I would have tried to boot the system using the default jumper settings, and have everything boot as it eventually did, I would have given this board 5 stars.
This motherboard is great. Thebonly issue i have ran across is that i cant use hyper m.2 like i can on the asus maximus hero xiii and i cant run 4 ddr4 rams at 4000 mhz.
Great features not found on any other motherboard, but bluetooth 5.2 is not built in correctly or defective. I had to buy a Bluetooth dongle for a stable connection.
East of a board on board bios for overclocking options drive you insane. Has to be manually adjusted, XMP I nor XMP II will always create a system failure with Trident Royal Elite Ram 128GB 4600Mhz
