Asus ROG Strix Strix X570-I Gaming Desktop Motherboard - AMD X570 Chipset - Socket AM4 - Mini ITX

Really great ITX gaming motherboard. Bought a 2nd to build a NAS with. Not optimal for NAS but not ASUS fault, really not anyone's fault. Just wish AMD offered onboard video support without loosing processing power…. Only really an issue in these days of video card rarity. Not a big deal, great board A+++++

This board is a beast now with resizable bar support handles my ryzen 5800x paired with crucial 3600mhz memory and a rtx3070 makes for a great gamings experience. No need for sli so why go full atx this has everything you need slapped on to a ma itx platform simply amazing.

Board is powerful, and can handle anything I've thrown at it so far. Two m.2 drives (one pcie-4, one pcie-3) with high read speeds, great performance with a 2070S and a Ryzen 5800x. I had a system freezing/crashing issue at first, but disabling "Global C-State Control" (name is slightly changed in BIOS, if I remember correctly) resolved it. My only issue now is that I can't install Armoury crate to turn off the RGB! It's a gentle pulse by default, so it's not terribly annoying. I just wish I could tweak the settings to my preference. Overall, very happy with board capabilities and performance.

upgraded from a z-270 m-itx motherboard from another manufacturer. aside from the obvious step up in technology, this asus mobo is an amazing piece of kit! i'm not a huge fan of the disco leds, but its one feature that adds quite a bit of panache. i appreciate the mini heatsink fan, and it doesnt appear to be as noisy as some have reported. the stacked m.2 port above the heatsink with another mini fan is convenient and a sensible solution for an item that produces alot of heat. i opted to pay a little more for this mobo over another product mainly due to the fact it had THREE 4-pin fan headers. i realize space is at a premium, but surely other manufacturers can find a way to squeeze at the minimum three. my biggest gripe with this mobo was that i couldnt get it to boot with a ryzen 5 5600x straight from the box. i kept getting the red POST led illuminated (cpu issue) as mentioned above, i upgraded from z-270, so i didnt have another amd 4 cpu lying around to update the bios. unfortunately, this model doesnt have usb bios flashback ability either. i rma'd it. they of course sent it back stating no problems, but now it could boot with the 5 5600x. it was a hassle. i needed my PC up and running, so i was forced to purchase another 5 3600 and another x570-i strix mobo. adding insult to injury, asus tech support shipped the first mobo without its original box. the second iteration has been up and running with zero issues. my cpu/mobo/ram/m.2 ssd setup has been since running smooth for both gaming and work. amazing performance from such a small package.

Overall one of the best Mini-ITX motherboards available, it would be difficult to consider another model if I was to build another similar setup. The only [potential] issue is the '2nd floor' design of the front m.2 location + Heatsink. This is less of an issue with water cooling, but since with air cooling it will collide with the majority of the best air CPU coolers. Since the only air CPU cooler dimensions often provided are depth, it's impossible to know what will fit without acquiring and trying to install it. It's advisable to do as much research as possible (and then more) if you decide to go that route.

Its an excellent itx board on the x570 chipset. Perfect for those small form factor builds however the chipset and vrm fans are exceptionally loud and do distract somewhat from the overall experience of a silent to quiet desktop / gaming pc. Other than that issue im very happy with what the board lets me achieve.

I decided to upgrade from a x399 to this X570-I however new mobo, new cpu I decided 5800X3D. Checked compatibility, yep, plays nice after bios update 4021. Drama, it cannot be updated directly from usb, and won't post with 5800X3D. Solution have another am4 cpu, update bios then switch cpu back to 5800X3D. Was pain in the bum I don't recommend using this cpu/mobo combo unless you have another am4 cpu. But it's an absolutely quality board as usual from ROG. It's OC abilities is where it shines, and where I plan to push it, absolutely recommend just take my 5800X3D situation into consideration if you are using same cpu as me. I would have preferred to know in advance that mobo wouldn't post with 5800X3D, but I can't hold this slight oversight against Asus or ROG.

It is a great, compact, motherboard. The only big issue was the placement of the enclosure for the SSD. It did not leave much room for the attachment of the graphics card. The Nvidia 3090 FE encased in the small form factor EKWB waterblock barely fit and is bending down slightly, putting pressure on the attachment point. Further, it will prevent someone from adding the thicker fully active backplate to the GPU in the future. There was also an issue that the faceplate did not line up well with the ports. There are several inputs that are inaccessible due to the plate covering just enough to prevent plugging something in.

Careful ordering this motherboard, the NVMe M.2 drive heat sink at the bottom is very tall, so tall he air cooler I purchased will not fit. What I have learned watching videos, you are EXTREMELY limited on air coolers, pretty much designed only for AIO. If you do purchase this, get physical measurements and then order your air cooler with dimensions from manufacturer websites.

The motherboard works fairly well. I have not had much luck with undervolting, but memory overclocking was fine. That said, I can't recommend that you buy this board solely because of how obscenely obnoxious the chipset fan noise is. Left on its own, it will ramp up to 6k RPM and higher even under very light usage. As of this moment, there's no way to control the PCH fan speed unless you risk a custom BIOS because ASUS still has not given us control of it in the official BIOS. I'd really recommend going B550 instead for the passive chipset cooling and not having to deal with the added noise that, as far as I can tell, offers very little benefit.
