Very stable. Loads of gaming tweaks in the BIOS. Handles everything I throw at it with ease. Very pleased, Thanks ASUS!
I love this board, and I happily give it five stars. I purchased this very soon after the release of the Z590 line with the intent of doing my first build in about ten years. I originally used it with a Intel i9-10900k, and then switched to an i9-11900k when they were released. The board itself has worked wonderfully. I did have to do some reading to learn that two of the M.2 Slots wouldnt work without PCI 4, and I would have liked that to have been more readily available in documentation, but with that having been my only problem, I can say that I have been happy. RGB Lighting works well, even in conjunction with the iCue software in my Corsair case. It has a great level of control over everything. The dual ethernet ports and wifi6 all work without issue. I'd recommend this to friends or family. I am very much looking forward to the day that RTX 30 series cards are available to the general public for something close to asking price (hint hint Asus...) and my build will be complete.
Assembly went without any problems, booted first try and has run several months. Used to replaced old ROG Rampage IV Black. Liked it enough to buy second one to replace an ROG Maximus Hero VII. That one also assembled flawlessly and booted first try. Performs very well, would definitely recommend.
It would be really nice if the different zones were addressable using Armory crate, and if the hue for each zone matched. ie purple should appear as the same hue for all zones when it is set to it, not one zone showing as nearly pink, the other blue and the third as the actual chosen colour.
M.2 slots what gen level can they run, With i9 10900k and What level with an I-9 11900k. A warning about installing in slot m.2-2 slowing down your GPU. I found that it's not even close to a plug and play motherboard. Read the manual before starting
The ROG Strix z590-e Gaming Wifi motherboard has, so far, been a good purchase. It was relatively easy to install, most instructions were clear, as were most of the illustrations. One area that was unclear was what to do with the plastic film on the thermal pads for m.2 slots that you do not use.
The BIOS is AWFUL!!! I make all of the necessary changes and select the Save changes and "RESET"???? Why reset? The reset should be upgraded to "EXIT". SAVE CHANGES AND EXIT. Not SAVE CHANGES AND RESET. I want to have the option to have the RGB LEDs on during the use of the computer and when the computer is off and NOT have the RGB LEDs running when the computer is shut off. Please fix this.
I'm very disappointed in the performance of the ROG STRIX Z590-E Gaming board when paired with I9 117000K Intel processor and 64GB 4400 DDR4 and a 4th gen NVME 2TB drive. The I9 107000K Intel processor is beating it on almost all benchmark test available.
It is a good mother board, but one of the clips that hold the gpu failed to work properly on day 1, just installing the card. I am not sure that the card will come out easily, if at all, when I upgrade the gpu. So I might be stuck with this motherboard-gpu combo.
The default AI OC system of this board determined my i9-11900k with a Noctua NH-D15 Cooler could easily run at 5.3GHz. This resulted in my CPU hitting the 100C shutdown threshold under full load. I have to hard set the limiter to 4.6GHz to avoid temps in excess of 72C. On top of that, the AI system first wants an XMP setting, before CPU, which makes no sense. All in all, it's a very confusing and poorly designed system that takes everyone down the rabbit hole just to tweak things properly. I've also had numerous LAN HAL issues with Windows 10. So bad, I had to drop my backup software. This was on a fresh Win 10 install with no other issues or problems.
