Huge upgrade for me. WiFi 6e should be fast enough for the foreseeable future. Maybe some day sometime when my beard is beneath my knees I'll need more power but I don't see for what. I almost upgraded because the wifi 7 routers are out but this thing is doing great. No on board slot for micro sd cards so I hooked up a dock instead of expansion. Seems disks in general are going extinct. We'll be writing on air in my lifetime I'm sure of it. It's running smooth so far with no need to clock but that's nice to have as an option. I'm happy with the value to performance of this board. It looks great too. The aesthetic was the main reason I wanted it but it seems like it's going to serve me well for years.
The motherboard is easy to use and everything is plug and play. I love that they got rid of those pesky m.2 screws and replace them with m.2 notches. The gen 4 NVME speed on this motherboard is super fast, it's loading my programs and games like night and day. Another cool feature is the wifi 6 and the speed that it gets especially if you have a wifi 6 router. There is a whole lot of USB C ports on the motherboard which is really cool. This is an perfectly designed motherboard and I'm satisfied with my investment.
Upgraded from a ASUS Strix Z690-F with a 9700k. Went with the ASUS Strix Z690-F and 13700k. The ASUS Strix Z690 has 4 NVME drive bays with heatsinks. Super beefy VRM and other component heatsinks across the board. RGB and fan headers are well placed and the motherboard includes a AIO header. Cool velcro logo'ed strap for cable management. I didn't sue it but it looks cool. Great quality build. If you want a top tier motherboard without going "Elite", go Strix.
The board layout is real nice. The included WiFi performs very well with my extended WiFi System. I like the number of M2 slots The AIOC features in the BIOS are real easy to use. I did view an ASUS produced video on YouTube to get the essentials down. Pretty straight forward after that. Plenty of features to tweak beyond the AIOC defaults. Very nice to see the BIOS show the predicted stable overclock in advance. Armory Crate is solid application that lets me gauge all my settings in one place. Having access to the AI features for fans and OC is convenient. Only downside is that I had to modify my ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 280 to get it to seat on my i9-12900K properly.
This motherboard is feature packed and I've not even unlocked it's full potential and even though i like it a lot. It is a premium board and is not cheap, which brings to my next point. It takes about 40 seconds to boot, with nothing connected and even to the logo screen on boot takes 20 seconds. I know it does checks on ram, hardware etc, but i wish this can be either be speeded up or switch off in bios. Sure it is not a deal breaker but for an expensive board like this i would've expected better, maybe in future bios updates might rectify this. There is a lot like about this board it is Win11 ready and looks fantastic with all the RGB running on my gaming rig.
Excellent quality, easy installation, no problems with BIOS update and compatibility. My fourth ASUS board over the last 15 years, always trouble free the life of the build.
Great motherboard so far. Love the little things they did with easy install of M.2 drives and not needing a screw and providing the heat sinks and thermal pads- nice touch.
Motherboard looks awesome and fits perfectly in my tower! Bring on the gaming nights with the boys!
I spent a lot of money for a lot of board. Am not disappointed. Would make terrible personal financial decisions again.
I love the hardware itself and its ability to really enhance the gaming experience. My major issue is with the software for monitoring and support. I also don't like that it comes with a CD ROM, most modern computers do not have CD ROM drives. Unfortunately, due to the software issues I am going to have to call support at some point
