One of the best I've had, It does everything i want and more, Easy Bios upgrade, Easy Auto Fans Setup, Can enable and disable Sata Ports for easy install of window, Easy Install of M2, I had other board the are missing these features or have to setup manual and its never gores well for me.
Does what it says on the tin. Well worth the money
Its the best motherboard I have ever bought, Its great starting from all the connectivity options and the build quality which is superb all the way to the q release and all the added accesories in the box which make it a smooth build and the Rgb not being too invasive. Overclocking is also a breeze and VRM temps are pretty low.
I recently purchased this motherboard for my first ever PC building experience. I must say I'm 100% happy with the performance. Although I did have some windows 11 boot issues. 1. Make sure clear and CMOS and update the bios before installing windows to prevent any boot issues
Has a range of decent options for upgrading, packs a punch for ram, ease options for fans, reasonable instructions for assembly. Rog colours that can be fully customized, great options with graphics card and where m2 will go. Got a few spares in the box too .
Was looking for a motherboard that still used ddr4 memory because the price of ddr5 is still to inflated. Could not have picked a board i am more happy with.
Great board, I used 13 gen Intel. Pci interface is sweet, I am running a RTX 4090. Motherboard artificial I Overclocking really is all the boost a newcomer to Overclocking needs to know for performance increase and not jeopardize his rig. Love the asus bios interface.
I selected the ROG STRIX Z790-A Gaming Wi-Fi D4 from a number of other manufacturers' motherboards, because I know that ASUS makes very good products generally. Futher, I liked the features that the ROG STRIX Z790-A Gaming Wi-Fi D4 offers, and the price. The only thing that I miss having on the motherboard, is a speaker to help with the posting process.
The motherboard was exceptionally easy to install for somebody with little to I experience building a computer. There is one caveat, and that is the Armoury crate software. I am not able to get the software to run without ADMIN privileges which I will not use. I had to uninstall the software and use open RGB and the Lian Li software to control lighting. This is extremely disappointing as the RGB on the motherboard, outside the memory, is now rendered useless. There are multiple posts all over the internet regarding Armoury Crate and I have had similar issues with it to the point of just not wanting to deal with it.
For the most part I like the motherboard, but I think it's over priced for being so close to a z690. Looks wise it decent, I think the frosted cover on the back IO LED shroud looks cheap. The argb LED effects aren't very controllable since the lens just diffuses all of the zones together. Some LED lighting down by the chipset would've been nice. I don't like the different finishes on the VRM heatsinks, one is brushed aluminum, one looks bead blasted, they should be consistent. Software wise, Armory Crate has always been a glitchy mess. On the plus side, the motherboard runs well, looks good from a distance and will hopefully overclock well (I haven't tried yet). I'd rather have a Maximus Hero but the cost is insane on them.
