Spenny For Hire May 17, 2020

This gaming laptop has been so great. I have not has a single issue with it. I installed Ubuntu on it and it works fantastic. Love the additional number pad placement. No stuttering during game play of watchin movies either. Super Affordable gaming laptop. Never heats up at all.

An absolutely amazing laptop!

JeffCheat003 May 18, 2020

I purchased this laptop for my CAD program. I use multiple Autodesk products (3DS Max, Maya, Autocad 3D) as well as Sketchup and Blender. This laptop does it all! Admittedly, it does have the RTX 2060 video card which makes things so much easier, and I did upgrade it to 32GB RAM which also helped. I also installed a 2TB SSHD in the second bay for additional storage. Still, this laptop keeps up and even beats out my similar spec desktop running an Nvidia 960 by miles. Renders that would take 2-3 hours on my desktop take 9-10 minutes on this laptop (using raytracing). The battery life is okay, but I usually keep it plugged in when I'm doing any serious work, so that hasn't really been an issue. Overall, I'm a fan of ASUS and glad I got this wonderful laptop.

1) Thermal Cooling Panel 2) RGB Backlight

Anonymous August 19, 2020

I bought ASUS TUF laptop few days back. I am so happy to buy this product of asus having NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060 graphic card of 6 GB with 8 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. It is suprising that it's battery backup is quit good and having very minor heating issues. Sound quality is preety good with 7.1 channel surround sound and with 120 Hz Refresh Rate. Additionally it has HyperCool Technology for thermal cooling and has adjustable AURA RGB Keyboard. Cherry on top is that it has fully mettalic body.

Pure Awesome

Cwick71200 August 16, 2020

I bought this needing a new all-around computer for doing graphic design work, as well as for some decent gaming in my off time. Let me say it is much better than my old tower which is now a glorified living room gaming PC. You can easily get away with some decent 4k gaming on this thing if you have a decent monitor for it, though expect about 34-60 frames. Other then that playing most games at that are frame caped at 1080 you are going to hit a solid 60 frames. If not higher in games that are not capped. The turbo is really nice on this pc, though can be a little on the loud side. 5 stars.

Great Laptop

jproriginal December 1, 2020

I purchased this laptop for light gaming and working from home and it has performed very well. The screen has a good refresh rate, and the GPU supports ray-tracing. Good battery life with the integrated graphics also.

Fair warning laptop maybe in single channel.

Apaircorn October 3, 2020

When I got a hold of the laptop after doing system updates. I noticed it said 1 out of 2 slots so that let me know this system is in single-channel mode. It is not good for any laptop or desktop for Intel or AMD to run in Single Channel mode. So I bought a separate ram stick to get dual channel. Overall the price is very good for what you're getting I wish I would have known sooner so I would have been better prepared. Build quality is good and so is the keyboard trackpad is decently well there is an extra 2.5inch bay for more storage (just be careful of the screw holes mine broke probably in shipping). I would recommend it to someone that is a content creator and looking to game on the go.

have some problems but worth every penny

Anonymous January 26, 2021

So I have been using this laptop for over a period of 3 months now, and I believe I can say that I have done almost everything that an average user would do and beyond. In some cases. first of all, I would like to tell the Pros of this device. 1) The overall build is great and the body is sturdy and the monitor doesn't wabble when jerked around. 2) The keyboard on this device is is just amazing. I LOVE it. the key travel is just perfect and the click also doesn't feel mushy. I could comfortably type a 100 page project on this laptop without any pain in my wrist area. took me a little time to adjust to it but it felt more natural the more i started using it. 3) The configuration and the cost of the laptop are just too perfect to be true. An RTX 2060 with Ryzen 7 3750H is a match made in heaven. The costing, although a bit pricy(that's just my personal opinion cuz i like to save money where ever i can) is retty much better that almost all of the competitors that i looked into. 4) the upgradeability is good. I could get the latest nvme drives or if I have a 2.5 inch ssd lying at home, I could fit that into this and get my laptop better and faster. so that is also a plus point in my opinion although I would have preferred 2 nvme slots, and a drive slot, I dont mind this too as the average consumer will not be knowing the difference in them anyways. 5) The ports are conveniently placed and easy to remember. (not a full point. see cons point 5) 6) The screen provided with this is an added bonus cuz it can go 144 hertz. the panel quality is also good as I haven't faced any issues of localized white spots or anything upto this point and I did some editing for a friend and had no problem in color corrections and stuff. 7) The laptop is average in heat management, but its good. It knows when to do what speeds of the fan and it shows. while normal surfing, the fans are barely audible and when i start playing games, they go up according to the hear produced. idk if that should be a plus point or not but I was not irritated by the fan noise made. so im guessing a lot of people wont have any problem with the fans. now coming to the CONS of the laptop. 1)the software could create a lot of problems sometimes. for example, the pre installed software, ARMOURY CRATE was not working properly a lot of times. did not show correct temperatures and even showed 0 degrees celcius at times when i was at the peak of gaming. 2) The RGB on this laptop is pretty vanilla. It could have been better if asus atleast added a raindrop-ish type of feature for the keyboard lighting software. or other modes than the basic 4 modes it has (strobe, cycle, static and breathing). It would also have been a good thing if they could have included RGB in the outlines of the track pad. (again, this is a personal preference.) 3) sometimes it overheats for no reason. even when playing the least graphic intensive stuff, the fans go crazy. Im guessing that is a software issue. 4) Again, the upgradibility is good, but could have been better. also, I feel like the Ryzen 7 is acting like a bottleneck for the RTX 2060. 5) Why are there no ports on this device?!?!? the only ports it has is a gigabit eathernet, one hdmi and three usb slots and that too one is usb 2.0. asus could atleast have added a sd card reader and a mini display port to the laptop. I agree that the current ports are set up in a good way but what was stopping you from adding a mini display port and micro sd card? also not to forget a usb type c would have been nice. really disappointed by that to be honest. 6) the webcam is really bad. forgive me for my rude language but the webcam is not even on the basic level as a normal laptop. 7) The body of the laptop could have been made by metal too. that would have been a nice option. And that is the end of my review for this laptop. ASUS FX505DV

Great refresh rate

IvyPersona June 15, 2020

I got this for my birthday a few months ago and if you dont mind spending a bit more for extra RAM, this is an actual decent gaming laptop for the price. I've had no errors with it so far and it's pretty solid

It's decent, but needs improvement

VincentOK1 September 22, 2020

I shopped around a lot before deciding on this one. I have had an ASUS before that I liked very much. Pros- it boots fast (17-20 seconds) and is reliable. I like the feel and response of the keys. It looks like a standard Windows laptop. Black. Not too flashy, with fairly subtle "gamer" cues. Cons- The fans are very loud when gaming. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I realize the CPU and GPU need to be cooled, but I can't imagine that all gaming laptops are this loud. The WASD keys, which are clear, are a nice touch, but the printing is wearing off after a few months. The case is plastic and has a "brushed metal" sort of surface texture on most of the surfaces. It looks cool, but shows fingerprints like crazy. The tiny indicator lights are present above the KB near the screen, but who knows what they indicate. Just like on YOUR laptop. Need a flashlight and magnifying glass to see the tiny, black-on-black icons. The worst thing is that I can't even play Fortnite on the highest settings without my frame rate tanking. According to the specs, this machine should have no problem, but it does. It's OK. I'm not going to replace it. But I would suggest shopping around and paying just a little more if any of these things are a dealbreaker.
