Beautiful design and well thought out layout. VERY light, thin and portable. This is my second Zenbook, my first is still very nice (16”) but has the unsupported Windows 10. The screen is extremely sharp and vivid. Keyboard layout is excellent and I love the backlit feature. Also having the laptop recognize me when she wakes up is nice. The sound system is shockingly excellent for such a small thin laptop.
Intermittent major issues with minutes-long hangs, overheating, and rapid loss of battery power. Sending back, but diagnostics show no issues, so not very hopeful...
So glad I spent time researching laptops. The Asus Zenbook s14 is meeting all my needs and expectations so far.
The screen is incredible, the shortcuts on the touchpad is super helpful. I forgot to think about speaker quality when purchasing but I was pleasantly surprised when I tested the quality, even the bass is great.
Computer setup was flawless and has worked without issue. I like that is feels very durable even with a light weight design. I bought because it is lighter laptop It also looks guide but does attract fingerprints.
Like I said, the laptop feels amazing to use although there are a few drawbacks, like the laptop not extending to a full 180 degrees. An all-around amazing computer thought.
1. The camera often doesn't work when trying to sign in (50% it works and 50% it doesn't work), so I need to use my passcode to sign in. The camera just doesn't turn on. Windows says that I probably have hardware issues. 2. The USB-A port doesn't work with my external hard drive cable - the cable keeps on being ejected every 30 seconds from the port, so I have to plug the cable into a hub, which is then inserted into the USB-C port. 3. The hub that is inserted into the USB-C port has to be propped up or else it's ejected from the port every once in a while. 4. The charger is impractical for working overseas, where you sometimes need to attach a converter to the end in certain countries with different plugs, causing the charger to fall out of the wall socket. The charger is too heavy. Thus, I had to buy a new universal charger. 5. While using the laptop on my lap, it got uncomfortably hot even after an hour of use - perhaps because of the alternative charger or the laptop is just poorly made. 6. Battery life while using Lightroom is less than 4 hours. Honestly, I should have bought a different computer but since I had to leave overseas for work, I didn't have enough time to return it for a different one.
I'm 99% positive on this laptop, but I have two complaints. 1) The power cord that came with the laptop is too short, and didn't match what was in the instructions; 2) There isn't a number keypad, so putting in codes, etc. is a bit more cumbersome. That said, everything else about this laptop has been fantastic.
Great laptop, but on the ASUS offer for a possible extended warranty my serial number was NOT recognized!
