Atari VCS Base Console

I love the Atari. I grew up with it as a kid. I am so glad that Atari is releasing this system with both classic and new games. I also like the fact that it is designed to work as a linux based PC, and is designed to work with most PC peripherals.

Amazing Atari Console/PC! Added 32GB Ram - Latest game Cyberpunk 2077 plays really well! At 8GB had some slow down issues (I am sure 16GB would be enough). Also added 1TB SSD for storing loads of games. As well as running new PC Games I have installed all the modern arcade hits! Also have the whole collection of PS2 (some PS3) games, Game Cube, Wii games, Neo Geo Arcade etc! The possibilities are endless. Have a look on youtube! 8GB is enough for most games but I would recommend upgrading to 16GB. Plus use it for my work in Windows 10 and Linux modes! An open system is an amazing idea from Atari. Most kids in UK are currently studying from home now, so this Atari VCS is a cheap option to get Windows 10 running with a webcam.

Very happy with my purchase. the classic controller is awesome. I love the rotary feature. comes with 100 classic Atari VCS and arcade games. I've been having a lot of fun with a bunch of the new indie developers titles.

I think it's GREAT that ATARI is giving it another go! I can't wait to check out this new machine that downloads games instead of discs ! How can some people give a negative review , when they haven't even seen the new ATARI yet? Thanks Wal-Mart!

what a pleasure to be able to replay the games of my childhood I really hate, the console is less expensive than the competition

It's a fair system, however upping the included RAM amount and changing the M.2 SSD to modern socket type would be appreciated.

Mini PC for my TV in bedroom or living room. It is capable of running Windows, Linux and any other OS. So it is capable of running many games including current gen. Any game that runs on windows (halo collection and many other xbox games) Games purchased on Steam (Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, Detroit Become Hunan etc.) and the Epic Gamestore (Red Dead Redemption 2, GTAV, Assassins Creed Series etc.) can run and be played off the Atari VCS.

If you like Atari games, buy a flashback. I’ve been following the VCS story for a couple years now and I’m convinced it’s not coming out. These guys are not Atari and this is not the VCS.

This is not the same Atari company you remember of the 1970s and 80s and at best this thing is worth only about $50. $300 is not going to bring your childhoods back and this VCS does not have the capability of playing games like the ones played on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

I didn't buy it because I expected to fail miserably. I already have an Xbox one. one of the things I think that is why it's going to fail miserably because it has that old Atari look it looks like it has an upholstery looked and it looks like it's dated back to about the year 1972 not good.
