Athletic Works 8 lb. Weighted Vest, Neoprene

This is great. I am 5'6" and 122 lbs. with osteopenia. Got 4 lb vest because wanted to try it out (have accident injuries and problems with feet so wanted to try something). Chose this one because I don't want anything of the weight vest under my arms that may obstruct or annoy my movement and didn't want anything weighted on my chest. This is terrific. At first I thought that 4 lbs wasn't enough and started looking at the 8 lb vests for next level up. But after walking for 90 minutes I can tell you that my heart was higher (I am in shape... this is not new exercise routine) and my feet and ankles could feel it. Glad I chose this 4 lb vest as a trial... depending on how this goes I may go to an 8 lb... but frankly.. this 4 lb definitely had an impact on my body. Didn't slow me down, but I could feel my body was under more stress than usual at the 90 minute arrival back home. What is amazing about this vest is that I can bend over and stretch my back and hamstrings and the vest does NOT move. It didn't lose grip and slide down to my head or hit me. The lower adjustable straps/length arrive just below the lower rib which allow it to stay in place. I do have a waist line so if your mid section is bigger than your rib circumference then maybe you would find it wrapped around your head and neck with a touch your toes stretch... but I could move around and this did NOT move. (I got the "M/L" size but there was not size indicator on the box so not sure what if there are any sizes even. My vest didn't smell unless I had my nose right in it. So not sure if that is a variable or sensitivity issue or what. My nose is SUPER sensitive and this wasn't any problem so glad I bought one despite those bad reviews.

Love this vest! I've recommended it to all my friends. I have osteopenia, so this is a huge help on my walks. I have the 4lb one, which is perfect for me. Very well made. Highly recommend.

Easy to put on. Initially, I was skeptical about 8 pounds being too light but after wearing the vest for a brief period of time, I could feel the weight especially when taking stairs.

I really like this. Just the right amount of extra weight without putting too much pressure on my back.

Great when I'm working out or going for a walk the pocket in the front is so convenient for my phone, keys etc

This does the job. I wanted to add a little weight to my workouts for a challenge and it definitely made me work harder and sweat harder. As a person with a larger chest, this did not impeede my movement and the straps were comfortable. The one bad thing is the smell. It is overwhelmingly chemical. I put this in the garage for two days to air out and it still smells which is unfortunate because I like it but I can't really handle breathing hard during a workout and inhaling the fume from this thing. I even tried a little Febreeze on it but the smell cut right through that too.

Love Love it. I am going to purchase the 8lbs when it's back in stock

I am not too busty and still hurts my chest. Returning it!
