Athletic Works Women's and Women's Plus ButterCore Full Length Leggings with Pockets, Sizes XS-4X

Athletic Wear always fits my difficult to fit 5'11" inch height and weight of 235 lb frame. I got the 2x and it is a nice fit. A little short in the legs but my ankle socks fix it. I buy athletic wear shorts and pants because the fit is always good.

These pocketed leggings are my new "go to" for every day use and while traveling. I purchased 2 pairs of each color. One set stays in my closet and the other stays in my luggage. I wear these leggings around town, on trips out of town and for my upcoming mission trip to Africa. Unlike the Old Navy cotton leggings, these pockets don't sag. These pockets are just as sturdy as the leggings and hold everything in them tightly in place. I would've given this pair 5 stars but the color is not as depicted in the photo. Instead of it being a lighter blue, it is more of a medium (dark Carolina blue or overcast sky blue color). They are comfortable and provide some tummy control for those with a muffin top. They fall at my ankles but after the first wash, they're now just above it and haven't shortened anymore. They wash well. I wash them in hot water and dry them on high heat and there hasn't been any additional shrinkage. My calves are proportionate to my body frame so I don't struggle to get them on. I purchased a size XL and they fit well. I toggle between a size 14/16. I am 5'8" in height. I hope they offer more colors for these leggings. It would be nice to have a matching jacket that wasn't a skin tight crop top like the sets they do offer. These are cool enough for spring/summer and warm enough for late fall/early winter. When I do sweat, they dry quickly and I don't feel "wet" due to the excellent moisture wicking abilities. Athletic Works is my favorite brand of legging because they offer a much higher percentage of cotton in them than many other brands. These leggings don't sag like the Old Navy ones after you've had them on for awhile. Pair them with a nice cotton tee and you're good to go for almost any "dress down" event. I have fairly sensitive skin and I didn't experience any irritation from these leggings. I stitching for the pockets (on the inside) could be slightly irritating during the first wear but after washing, the stitching softened and they were fine.

The fit is comfortable, snug all the way up. I don't like loose or saggy leggings so I personally like the way these fit. Size up one of you like more breathing room. I don't have to constantly keep pulling them up either, it stays up much better than most others I have tried.

I bought the blue ones and they are great!! Love the way they feel and look. They are very snug and help flatten the tummy area. I bought a grey pair and they are not the same. They do not flatten the tummy area and seem very loose compared to the other pair. So mixed feelings on these leggings. I do live the pockets and they don't roll down. They are great so everyday use.

I ordered light grey melange color. The stock/model image appeared very light grey, closer to white. These are light but not that light. They are a little small and pilled with the first wash. The athletic works brand is usually a pretty good quality and fit, but I am disappointed witht his purchase.

I really wanted to love these leggings. They're very soft, and thick enough. If they fit properly, I think I would've really liked them. The fit is really weird. They're very long on me, and fit very slim through the legs and lower hip. Then the upper hip/waistband felt like it was too big. I'm normally a M in VS leggings and that size did not fit me in these. I love everything else I've tried from the Buttercore line. If your waist is smaller than your hips, I don't think I'd recommend these.

I saw these leggings in my usual size (2X) at the store and could tell right away they wouldn't fit. Since they didn't have a larger size in stock, I ordered them online. I meant to get a 3X but accidentally ordered a 4X—UGH, they were too big. When I tried to return them online and exchange for the smaller size, the only option I saw was to reorder the same size and I checked today, 3X isn't available in store. I will order them again when 3X is back in stock as these leggings are incredibly soft, and I love the pockets.

This review is for XL butter core leggings November 2025. I am 67, 5'5" 175, normally wear large. These are a bitter sweet item, but quality control failed walmart on this one. Pros... * This is the softest fabric i have ever worn on a legging. Hence the two stars instead of one. Not too thick, not too thin. Super soft, perfect amount of stretch. * the pockets are nice and deep though the angle makes it hard to find. * this item was actually designed for an after surgery garment, with no top eleastic or supportive fabric. Cons... Oh let me count the ways, but alas not have enough space. * first and formost there is no top elastic that holds them up. They have no support, no way for them to stay up if you are doing anything but laying on the sofa/bed. These are not made for someone to exersize, jog, bend over or walk. * not for yoga, not for everyday use, not for exersize... unless you like showing butt crack or have free time / hands to constantly pull them back up. In summary, if you are healing from a tummy surgery and dont plan on walking for a while, these are for you! Super soft amd not binding, just buy a size up. If you plan on walking or bending, or moving at all... try another brand because these are not going to work for every day use. Almost walmart, but not quite.
