Ativa® 6-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder, Black, A06CC19

I purchased this shredder to replace an old shredder that died over a year ago. I've owned this shredder now for 3 months. This unit has worked GREAT in shredding all the paperwork that accumulated after the last one died. I've only had to empty the bin and get a few jams here and there. (I know I should have oiled the blades by now, but it's still working fine). I also like that Walmart's price was cheaper than Office Depots ( and it's coming from Office Depot).

I love the handle for lifting and it's not very loud. The opening is small enough for several sheets of paper and I like that as well. Works as I expected after reading the liner notes above. The instructions are clear and warranty information is as instructed. *Includes a oil shredder sheet. Ativa Shredder worked as I expected and fit very well for my small shredding needs. I was using scissors before that. Not one to be hard on my machines and I follow usage instructions by keeping my manuals and product receipts attached and filed. This helps me to reference back if I have questions. If a heavy duty shredder is what your looking for, then choose another one that fits your needs, don't go for a ""cheaper version"" that can only shred (6) sheets at a time and work for five minutes and rest for 50 minutes. So far so good. Operates as expected, it's new! If it lasts a year and a day I'll be satisfied, I've never owned a shredder that lived longer than a year, so we'll see?

Replaced a shredder that was old and quit working with this one!! It's small but it's mighty! Quiet and works like a charm!! This one is a keeper for sure!!

I believe this will be exactly what I need. I am not ready to use it at present and I need to read the instructions, of course. I will be sure to use it correctly.

I like it, but it is much littler than I thought. It is fine for shredding my mail. And I wish the bottom was made of better materials, but it is OK for personal use.

So far so good. It is relatively quiet and has a good size bin. It does have trouble accepting a single thin sheet of paper, so I fold it in half which works better.

The AUTO mode of this shredder does not work properly. Instead of automatically turning on when a piece of paper is inserted the motor runs continuously. This shredder should not operate in this manner in this mode. I understand that this shredder is not a top of the line model but it is cheaply constructed and loud and noise when shredding paper.

I love finding positive reviews but sorry must be real here! Several IMPORTANT FACTS you should consider: If you only need to shred a few pages once in a while, and limited space, then you might like this. Otherwise.... 1)Walks pages sideways to jam blade corners; 2) Handles 2 pages not 6; 3) When halfway full either stop and empty the bin and clean cutter or you get mostly cutter jams each time, see pic., DO NOT pull out by hand. Unplug, empty bin, then put back on do reverse then RUN to clear! 4) After cutting 2 bins full must stop to cool it off. I believe from it not releasing cuttings may add to this. 5) Very Loud and noisey. 6) Don't waste your time trying to clear out old files like I did. After two days of aggravating constant jams and having to wait to cool off after two bins, I give up and will just burn them all. I will be returning this.
