The Birds Will Love You!
I have maintained ponds before, and they are a lot of work. I also live in an area that can be very windy, so I needed a better solution. This was for a bird bath, and birds are very cautious about deep water, so this fountain basin seemed like the perfect solution. It was very easy to design a rock bubbler using this 8 gallon fountain base and the birds are at it all day, every day! I do a system flush using a siphon once every week or so, but the base creates a somewhat closed system, keeping the water cold and fresh for a long time. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to attract all kinds of birds, (and deer, and squirrels, and chipmunks) to their yards.
