This answering machine does work. I just returned a Panasonic phone I bought from Walmart and the answering machine didn't work and I'm hoping to get my full refund back. I haven't heard back yet from them.(Panasonic phone order %23200013169657714 sold by Lifestyle by Focus)

Light but good.
I was put off at first because it's so light. But thats the way it is with modern electronics. There is no need to add weight if it is not needed. Range was more than 100 ft., and that is through two walls.
