Attack on Titan the Movie: Part 2 (Blu-ray + DVD)

I wanted to complete the saga started it part 1, so I bought this (part 2). A little less action and Titan mayhem than the first, but those elements are a treat when they rise up to the screen, especially if you know and appreciate the history/influence of Japanese tokusatsu (special effects) and kaiju (monster) movies. There's an interesting exposition sequence, and Hiroki Hasegawa (star of Shin Godzilla) is always welcome, even as he hams up his role, and Jun Kunimura plays a shocking evil turn, something I haven't seen him do before. (Don't know who he is? Look up basically any big budget Japanese movie from 2004 onward... or Kill Bill Vol 1, which might have something to do with his pervasive screen presence) The first 5 minutes is a recap of part 1, which feels unnecessary for a movie in this century. With the credits, I figured the runtime of the real movie being approximately 77 mins. That detail may influence your decision to purchase... be ye warned. It's not a strong adaptation of a legendary anime and Manga, but the thing to keep in mind is Hajime Iseyama (the creator of the source material) actually influenced the production greatly to be the way it is. In fact, it takes more inspirations from his one-shot (chapter 0), and apparently influenced later chapters of his serialized work. Verdict? It's resoundingly... mixed 3/5

the front of this dvd is misleading u dont know if it live action or not cause the live action one looks lik this is the anime part to of the dvd .

don't buy it the live action of attack on Titan its not worth your money
