Bought for my boat for emergency use. I fish in the Pacific Ocean by myself, if I go overboard this will be the only means to save myself. Nicely constructed, will be building a wooden holder for transom mounting.
This ladder is ready to be a life-saver
Perfect for our purposes. We have a jet boat that is a bit awkward to get in and out of once you are in the water, so this ladder will work perfectly for that.
Took a beating, and still looks good. Worth the money for the safety.
The plastic cylinder support columns collapsed after one use! And it tends to slide under your hull upon entry, probably better if you have tall sides. My boat sits about 3' high! I'll restring it with washers and knots to support the steps!
This ladder does not work too well for actually climbing out of the water. When you try to step on it (as is) the ladder swings out underneath you and makes it hard to climb. We disassembled it, took the pipes off between steps and used the steps to make our own version. For the price, it was worth it because the steps alone are quite pricey if bought from a boat dealer.
ladder fine but wasn't informed of it's arrival to the store.
The steps are separated by thin, plastic tubes so this is NOT intended for adults over 240 pounds. I removed all those separators and tied knots. Works like a charm now! Of course if you're severely overweight or have trouble pulling yourself up, this may not be for you.
Your feet go under the boat making it very difficult to get up. If you have a high side to your boat than this would work fine.
Don't waste your money. The ladder floats and you cannot get it to go down in the water to get your foot on a step. If you do manage to get one foot in, the ladder goes under the boat. It was really funny to see someone attempting to climb out of the water. The most you get out of this product is a good laugh.
