Of course in 2025, it is almost impossible to get or find a new and updated laptop with a CD Disk drive built in so I was very happy about this purchase. I am have some old modeling photos that are on CD that I would love to show my friends and download to add to my IG and this was super helpful. Aside from the CD Drive, it also has a slot for SD memory cards , which I used as well from my old digital cameras. It was very simple and easy to use. The read speed was pretty god. I also was able to watch some movies and my brother played games with it. This was all using my Macbook. It is essentially a plug and play.

Good price and quick delivery of a nice little external drive. Recognized immediately on the two Linux Mint laptops I plugged it into with the attached USB-3 connector. Haven't tried the burner function yet but I do not foresee any difficulty. If it requires additional power I will connect the supplied supplemental power cable. There was no software included, nor was any necessary -- I mention that since there was a rating question for software that did not include a choice for "n/a".

This works well/ used it to burn many CDs for friends and for work. Happy with this purchase and I would definitely buy again as it is easy to use and performs well for My needs.

My daughter has a MacBook and is in college for criminal justice she has recorded dvds of police calls she needed to listen to so I went with this player for her. I could not wait for this to get here because we tried every dvd player, PlayStation and nothing would play it . Sure enough it did not disappoint you literally just plug it in there's one button to open it and the icon pops right up when you put a cd/dvd in… this had to be the easiest accessory I have ever set up! Also no need to charge it … it powers on as soon as you plug it into your laptop… my only complaint would be the eject button did get stuck on us but there is a little hole right next to the button I stuck a pin in it and it pops it right open! So overall it affordable and gets the job done!

My MacBook does not have a cd drive and had limited plug in slots for work so I got this. Over the quality feels ok, and it does what it claims. The only thing is sometimes it's not reactive, not sure if it's just the one I received. After a few uses, it works better and I like the extra slots of plug in I can use to charge my other devices. It also doesn't heat up too much which is nice.

Upon delivery there as no invoice, no instruction. A plain box reading Ultra thin DVD Writer, lying on the porch. Having it for a short period of time I had use for it. The tray door was loose, would not open. Holding it at an angle I was able to open it with a Finger nail. The tray door finally opened. Inserted a DVD. Problem was I had to find a program to view video. Giving up. i had trouble ejecting the DVD. the tray door stayed loose and would not latch. I decided to return it but found no form to return it. I would like a refund. This product was definitely a piece of junk.

Dead out of the box. Would not load anything onto my computer. Instructions said computer may have to be restarted. With the player plugged in the computer would not even restart! Unplugged it from the computer and the computer started, Guess I should not expect much for the price, but I did at least want to give it a chance. SO returning it!!

Device does not pair with mac os or windows devices. Directions are limited but these devices are meant to pop up easily on your screen, this one does not. Even with searching for the device as recommended, it could not be found. There was no software requirement.
