August Home Smart Lock, 3rd Generation Technology, Silver

I bought the August Smart Lock Pro + Connect about a month ago now and have been putting it through the works. I have never owned a smart lock but needed something that would make it easy for me to enter, exit and lock my front door. No longer so I have to fumble with my keys. The August smart lock has never failed me in my daily use. Very easy to set up and they even have links on YouTube to follow for installation. Installed, signed up with their app, connect my Apple HomeKit service and done. That was it! I can lock and unlock using the home app on my iPhone or Apple Watch. Very convenient using my Apple Watch! I did not set up the WiFi extender as there was no need. My smart lock isn't too far away from my Apple TV 4K. Doing this would also prevents the smart lock from using too much power since it's just using Bluetooth LE and the Apple TV is handling all the data communications. Easy to give others access as well. Have family staying over the holidays so I gave them access, they setup an account and done! They too can have access to the lock within the Apple Home app. Invite them into your home app, give them ownership permissions and done! August makes a very reliable and easy to setup/use product. Works fantastic and I highly recommend. Also since the installation is inside your home, to the outside it just looks like your normal lock. Very nice to hide the fact that you're using a smart lock!

Just finished installing three more Smart Lock Pro model 3. Installation was a snap once I put in fresh batteries. I thought I was going to have troubles because this install was on a second home, but August had that covered as well. The install instructions on the App really made this easy.

Prompt delivery. Easy to install. Replaced “older” unit (2 years old) which just wore out. Didn't realize how much we depended upon the August lock. Glad to be back in business. Love it and hope it lasts longer.

We live in a rental property with a detached garage. This was very easy to install without adding more holes to a door. It's great to be able to walk out to/from the garage with an armload of stuff and not have to fumble with keys. Plus I can check from the house to make sure it's locked without going outside to check. It also alerts when it's jammed, which can happen if we didn't close the door all the way. Definitely a good investment that can move with us.

I loved the first lock when remodeling I bought another. No problem moving the original to the garage. This one is the perfect match for my new Schlage Brushed Nickel on my new front door. Contractor was how simple the August lock was added. Looks like it was part of the original door install.

I was skeptical when I purchased my first August Smart Lock. I did not want to change out all my hardware, so I was looking for a good Smart Lock, which did not break the bank and it's connectivity was consistent. I'm now on my third Smart Lock and they all work perfectly. I did have a little keypad for a while, but it did not last very long and a new one is fairly expensive for what it is. So if there was anything that they can improve it would be their keypad availability.

I want to like this product 100%, however, at least half of the time I have to "Repair blue tooth connection". This is incredibly annoying in the middle of the night after working all day. Coincidentally, it takes the same amount of time to use my key as it does to repair blue tooth connection. I have a Samsung note 8 and wonder if it's just phone specific issue. Sometimes I'm away from home 24 hours and it works perfectly. Other times, I'm gone for 15min and it doesn't work. I have not asked manufacturer for help yet either. On a positive note, the battery life has been moths long, install is very easy and I really like no paper instructions.

I have mine set to unlock the moment I get home. Yet, I get home and the door is locked. The Wi-Fi on my phone shows it should know I've arrived but yet it doesn't. Then when I get to the app it takes forever to pickup on the wireless or bluetooth. The whole purpose was for me to get home and come to an automatic unlocked door. Right now it's the opposite.

Lock is great, but the app and web site sucks. Regret buying this product. End up having to hand make little parts to retrofit old locks. Access is locked up by serial number saying that previous owner must release control. This was supposed to be new with myself as the first owner. End up having to enter hundreds of August originated pin codes just to set up. Not worth the money or time. Buy something else that works. Google constantly says, Sorry cannot reach August Home due to their cloud connections that are down most of the time.

I bought this smartlock because of the advertisement that it would fit any deadbolt lock It did not fit my kwikset deadbolt lock I call Customer Service and was advised to call a lock smith to install it go figure Also had to pay for the return of the item that did not fit my deadbolt lock whicjh is advertised to fit any deadbolt lock I'm very dissappointed in that product and Customer Service Representatives
