In an age where everything is digital, this is a must-have, especially for a smart home. I recently purchased a home with my fiance, and I have had a history of going keyless, starting from my vehicle. A home that you can enter without a key? That is exactly what this product does! Packaging was nice and simple, and there were instructions via a QR code, or physically. I went and setup through the app, which directed what to do, from installing the smart lock, to installing the door sense add-on. After installing, setup was quick, well, if your doors are properly closing (weather seals). We purchased 3 of these locks, and have them installed for all of our exterior doors. 2 of the 3 locks were easy, but we had some issues with the 3rd, as the door was not shutting and sitting properly to lock. We fixed the issue, and then the lock was working properly. Now, we have the ability to arrive home, and the doors automatically unlock, and then, same with locking when we leave the neighborhood. Another benefit is that if you forget to lock the door when you get home, it will auto lock if set after X amount of time. One issue I experienced, unfortunately, is that if you are going for a walk and have auto lock on, it will lock the doors, but not auto unlock when you get back, so you would have to go back into the app to unlock, or you can use a key if you really wanted to... Besides this, with wifi active on the device, expect 2 months of battery life before having the swap batteries on each device. This really depends if you set wifi on the device, or if you choose to solely use bluetooth, and how often you unlock/lock the door remotely. Overall, going keyless for the home is the best thing to ever happen for our home. Would recommend getting these for your home.
haven’t installed it but i am familiar with the brand packaging was good and product appears to be in good order
August Smart Lock is the best I've come across. I have three of them, making this one my fourth. The price for this version is the least expensive I've seen.
Get price and easy to assemble.
Super easy to install and use !
i have 3 of these locks. love them. my doors unlock as soon as i pull in the drive. One less step to get in the house with an arm full of groceries. These locks will tell you when they are unlocked and will tell you who unlocked them. they are compatible with your smart speakers
My experience with August locks have all been positive. I use to own a home in the east coast and loved the convenience of the door opening whenever I got home and I wouldn’t have to fumble for keys. It’s been some years but I remembered how easy it was to install and how useful it was when letting people in. I bought two new August locks for my new place on the West Coast. I don’t know how they did it but they seem to have improved the overall installation and ease of use. Love this lock. Love the app it’s easy to use and I feel safe. I always know if my door is open and secure.
Definitely loving the lock and being able to assign guess keys with temporary access. Auto unlock is a little wonky since the location service is somewhat inaccurate; we get home and get inside and the door "auto unlocks" 40 minutes later or not at all.
This is my second attempt at purchasing an August Lock for my entryway. We like a clean doorway with no knob, just a deadbolt. We think it's because we have no knob, but for whatever reason, the August just doesn't work. It's unresponsive when we try to lock or unlock the door. It says it's unlocked when it's locked and vice versa sometimes. It just hasn't been a good purchase for us.
I love the idea and design. However I keep getting notifications that auto unlocking is in progress but never achieves it. Also when I manually unlock through the app the door lock keeps ringing; it's like it's confused as to what has happened. Reconfigured several times but the issue keeps happening.
