Aunt Lydia's Classic Crochet Thread Size 10-Mexicana

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the smoothness of how the thread flows off of crochet hook. The colors are vibrant and can be used with any of the variegated solid colors. Wished you had more variegated colors and bring back the cameo variegated thread.

I bought several colors of this thread to crochet fashion doll clothes for young neighbor girls for Christmas. The thread was nice and fresh, and good quality. Have started working with it and it works up nicely. Appreciate the price and fast shipping too.

Made a beautiful elegant large doily for my daughter. The soft white and yellow was a wonderful balance. The white was just a small touch to add to the brightness of the yellow. Now please make purple and yellow. Purple and yellow. I reserve 8 spools already if I found it.

I find this thread to be superior to other similar threads from the past (including J&P Coats Knit Cro Sheen) as it is smoother/silkier and has a bit more stretch to it. It seems also to split less when working with it. One issue seems that different colors seem to have slightly different thickness for reasons I do not understand, resulting in finished products that are of varying sizes, though this usually is not an issue. Something to keep in mind is that dye lots do vary, and it is important to buy enough of a particular dye lot when you first make your purchase so that you won't have to buy more later, which might not match. Yarnspirations is NOT good with this. They do not guarantee that all of the spools of any particular color you order will be from the same dye lot.

This crochet thread is not as bright as the pictures, but it is still a nice array of colors in one ball.

Very serviceable and well-behaved cotton thread in plenty of colors to satisfy most. I’ve used nearly every brand of cotton crochet thread available and you really can’t beat the quality of RedHeart cotton for the price point, especially for big projects like wedding dresses or matelasse coverlets. Good stitch definition without being too ropey, nice finish, resists fuzzing, pilling and breakage well, very good yardage.

This is a case of Read the fine print. The photo shows a One Pound spool of thread. What they're selling is the smaller 350 yard spool. So, you think you're getting a really good deal when in fact, you're getting ripped off. You can buy the smaller spool for less than half the price at Michael's.

i ordered the large ball and they sent the small one. really disappointed.
