We had promised to make my copycat K-Mart subs, at Easter weekend, for family and friends. Well, they were sold out of my usual sub rolls, so I had to buy these. I'm actually glad I did. They were sturdy, yet soft, a good size, and had a nice texture and taste. The only thing that I had to work around was that the sub rolls I normally buy are not precut, and the Aunt Millie's are sliced all the way through. It was a little harder to keep all of that sub goodness contained, but I did it, AND I will be buying the Aunt Millie's sub rolls from now on.
These are good buns, but don't last too long on the shelf before turning blue. I got them to make homemade pizza subs. It didn't turn out too bad, but if you decide to use this for that, be sure to toast them first in the air fryer.
These are the best buns ever! Our entire family loves them. They are split but not cut all the way through so food like meatball sandwiches are easier to manage. You can finish cutting them all the way through easily. They also toast up great for warm toasted pizza breads or sandwiches. The longer shape makes it fun while they are not oversized and too much. We have had hot/cold sandwiches, meatball, toasted pizza, chipped beef, ham salad and more with these buns. Will always purchase these!
Bought for meatball sub sandwiches, but these are cut all the way through, ie a separate top and bottom not hinged. The cut on these makes an incredibly messy meatball sub. These aren't sub buns.
some ofthe buns were squished
I got the sub buns in a pick up order the day was the fifteenth they had mold on them the freshness date was the sixteenth
Skinny buns that are cut all the way through, disappointing to say the least. Dinner ruined to say the most.
When i took the buns out of bag they were molded almost black. I want to kno why someone who is bagging these could possibly miss it. That person needs a new job. I always have said how well you all do but gagged me!
next time write 6 inch buns .. they are just like all the other cheap buns they just say super so was expecting at least a 12 in sub bun....what a waste
They were fresh but tasted very weird and sour like they were bad. No one could stand to eat them, so they were thrown away. I'm not sure if it was a fluke or if they are always bad. I won't try again.
