Authentic Royal Naturally Aged Indian White Basmati Rice, Long-Grain, Gluten-free - 5 lbs

A few years ago, my favorite brand of basmati rice was suddenly nowhere to be found, so I bought Royal basmati rice. I was hopeful but also expecting to be disappointed, because so much of the basmati rice sold in grocery stores is not true basmati rice, grown in India and aged properly, but rather inferior rice blends. I was pleasantly surprised, because this is excellent rice. Just follow the easy rinsing, soaking, and cooking instructions, and you'll have fragrant, fluffy, non-sticky, flawless rice every time. Once or twice, I didn't have time to soak the rice and just rinsed it really well, and it's still turned out beautifully. Even my husband, who hasn't always loved rice as much as I do, has turned into a huge rice fan. He asks for it often, and is happy to eat a bowl of hot basmati rice with just a touch of olive oil or real butter and a sprinkle of sea salt and cracked pepper. But honestly, if either of us were served a bowl of this rice, steaming hot, with nothing on it, we'd happily eat it. That's how good it is.

This is one of the best Basmati rice that Walmart offers and at a great price. The rice cooks nice and soft and have a great taste. This is the one I usually buy and the price is right. Costco have a 20 lb bag for about 19,something which would comes out to $1,00 a pound, which is pretty mmuch what Walmart is selling their 10 pounds and their 5 pounds ones, about a $1.00 a pound and that's pretty good price for a great rice.

Liked the easy packaging..you don't have to tear apart everything, ther's a peeking re-sealable opening just below the top, so it's quite convenient to take it from the packet directly and seal it back!

I absolutely love basmati rice. Very light, fluffy and aromatic. The only ingredient in this rice is rice. It is a little pricey in comparison to all other rice but I'd take on the difference with no problem.

I love basmati rice and this rice that I purchased is amazing. It's delicious. It's easy to use. The taste is wonderful. I highly recommend this brand of basmati rice to everyone.

This rice works fantastically with a rice cooker! It is the best tasting rice EVER, and it does not 'stink' when cooking like some of the cheap rice (the bagged ones).

Thankful that Walmart carry this product. Please continue doing so. What's the meaning of aged?though. I hope this is fresh rice, that's why am just giving it a four-star.

poor packaging. the package continuously leaked through the seam for almost all the 6 package bought

The Basmati rice is good but buying it in 5 lbs for $8 each , is I cannot afford. That's why I ordered the 20 lbs for $23 and the store substituted it for 3 bags which is 15 lbs only and for the amount of $26. ! I cannot afford that. I would like to return them(3) bags to Walmart.
