Auto Meter Trans Temp
I purchased the Auto meter gauge to monitor my 700r4 oil temp, had some problems at first, but soon realized I did not install it correctly. Trust me, for accurate readings, install a bung on the trans oil pan with good clearance on the inside of the pan, do try and go the quick route by fitting into the trans lines. Also, make sure you have a PROPER ground (not just attaching to the nearest ground wire you see). We did not get a good enough ground the first time and had to re-install connected to an individual ground. After proper installation, the gauge has worked great, and it has allowed me to watch my trans temps accurately (we doubled checked with a thermal gun).
