We own two of Brad's watering 2 gallon systems. We were motivated to buy the second as it is super easy to use and keep clean! And, the chickens love them! Unlike our former open containers which need to be changed daily, this container provides fresh water for several days without debris, feathers, etc getting into the water. In addition, recently during below freezing temperatures, the water did not freeze as quickly as open containers! Our chickens and we highly recommend this product!
I found this waterer and i loved it from the start, i did take a while to come back and buy it because i was starting out small but farmer brad waterer is priced very affordable, and it is great quality. Farmer brad is quick with getting back to me when i need, and was able to take care of me. I would recommend this product to everyone.
I ordered the 2 gallon waterer for my six hens since I have a setup for them at another property and didn't want to worry having to drive to fill up their water every day. This product has been great so far and went a few weeks before I had to clean it. It's so simple and I thought about purchasing the pieces to make myself, but I'm glad I bought this instead! Highly recommend it!
To introduce the Chickens to the Automatic Waterer my kids picked a couple of the chickens up and put their beaks against the water feeder. The next day we saw all the chickens drinking from it. My chickens are about three months old. What a great product! Thanks Farmer Brad!
These are a great idea and I love the little peep hole at the top with the cap. I would suggest one improvement, the tightening nut that holds the hose in position gets easily shifted and then the hose moves so the float is sideways. Then the autofill float does not operate properly and shut off the feed. I had to rig some stiff wire over the top lip to keep the hose in position so the float points down and doesn't drift up sideways.
these automatic waterers have simplified the care of my chicken family. Brad was very helpful and called me personally before sending out my order to make sure I was ordering the correct thing and to talk me through the setup (super easy) and training of chickens (also very easy). Thanks so much Brad
It took my chickens about a day and a half to figure out how to use it. I thought they would figure it out for themselves but, after the first night, they rushed out of the henhouse in the morning toward their old water source. I carried a few of the more docile ones over and helped them use their beak to get water. They showed everyone else how to do it. I like this one better than the one with the nipples on the bottom since I now have no puddle of water under the bucket. Farmer Brad seems like a great guy!
Overall very pleased with the Automatic Chicken Waterer (2018 Version). The small diameter fill hose is nice because it would pass through the hardware cloth wall of the chicken coop without having to cut a hole. The design and construction are solid, and the customer service has been excellent. I would definitely buy it again.
I was highly satisfied with me purchase of the 2 gallon Automatic Chicken Waterer. Shipping was quick even with the Covid epidemic happening. The waterer works well and does not leak. The chicks seemed to catch on fast and have been using it for 2 weeks with no issues. I will probably get one more soon to cover both the chicken house and the run.
This little bucket works great. I planned to build a DIY waterer found on YouTube. But we were leaving on vacation for a week, so I purchased this bucket. The valve has been reliable so far; filling when it needs to and shutting off automatically. The only thing that was sub-par is the hose adapter. The bucket came with a very thick rubber washer/gasket in the hose adapter. However, it wasn't quite thick enough so water slips right past and sprays out of all sides of the hose connection. I added a 2nd rubber washer/gasket to create a proper seal and the connection is now water-tight. Though the bucket is 2 gallons, the valve only allows 30-40% of the volume to fill. Not a problem, just an FYI. :)
