When I first bought my 2018 RZR 900, I noticed it jerked in low gears both forward and in reverse. This made backing into my toy hauler quite difficult. When I had my 100 mile checkup, I asked if they'd see why it did that. When I picked it up, the dealer said, "That's just what they do." Many of you have heard the same thing. In checking on the Internet, many have had the same problem and gave the fix as replacing the belt with the Gates 26C4140. I bought one. It came yesterday and I immediately put it in the RZR. It worked perfectly!! Thanks to all of you who submitted the fix of the Gates belt. If that's "just what they do," why doesn't Polaris put the Gates belt in all of their RZR's? -m-2018 POLARIS RANGER RZR S4 900--
Yes, it truly works! I replaced the original belt on my 2017 RZR 900 and it no longer has those irritating jerky starts in Low or Reverse. It is simple to replace but not really easy. However, I persevered and the result is excellent. No idea how long it will last, but they indicate it is more durable than the Polaris original. -m-2017 POLARIS RANGER RZR 900 TRAIL EPS--
The Gates belt stopped the jerky starts that the original Polaris belt had from day one. It allows comfortable starts and has been a proven belt. I have over 4500 miles on 2016 900s eps and this is my second Gates belt. -m-2016 POLARIS RANGER RZR S 900--
This belt made a significant improvement over the stock belt in how it decreased the jerking when starting out in low and reverse on my 2015 Polaris 900 Trail. I had hoped for some improvement after reading the reviews but was surprised at much it helped. Would recommend this belt. I can't speak to the durability because I have only used it for a little under 100 miles.
I changed this to see if it would help with the jerking of the clutch between gears mostly in reverse. It helped a little bit so I'm happy with it the stock belt looked good RZR has 1400 miles. I would recommend it and it's easy to change yourself. I only have about 200 miles on this belt some in the dunes but so far no issues.
The belt does not have the jerky starts that the factory belt did. Especially in reverse. I have used it for trail riding while hunting for a week and a few more rides. So far it has held up well. This is on my 2017 RZR 900 Trail -m-2017 POLARIS RANGER RZR 900 TRAIL--
I recently installed a Gates G-Force C12 CVT Drive Belt, from Rocky Mountain ATV / MC. Having read all the customer reviews and Tech articles, I ordered the belt and did the installation myself, followed by the Gates recommended break-in procedure. I'm so impressed with the smooth engagement and hesitation free acceleration my Razor now delivers, I never would have believed a simple drive belt replacement could accomplish so much. And, at a fabulous price! We just returned from another week of trail riding and I'm convinced that the Gates G-Force belt is the best improvement made to our 2016 900 EPS Trail razor. Even better than the 29" tires. I especially appreciate how smoothly the Razor ascends the ramps onto our Diamondback Carrier now; no more "herky-jerky" drive up or down the steep incline. -m-2016 POLARIS RANGER RZR 900 TRAIL EPS--
Replaced my belt at 1100 miles just as preventative maintenance. I cleaned the clutches and broke in the belt properly. I had no problems before the belt replacement. I now have about 40 miles on this belt and have surging when I first take off. Did not have that problem with the old belt. Maybe the belt just needs more time to break in or I got a dud. Not sure yet... Time will tell. I'll carry my old belt as a spare just in case. -m-2015 POLARIS RANGER RZR 900 TRAIL EPS--
From start the whine was terrible. Took off at 50 miles. I was referred me to manufacture for warranty. Gates requires a fee and shipping. No guarantee they will refund or replace. Not worth any further purchases with super atv or gates. -m-2016 POLARIS RZR XP 1000--
Im a moderately aggressive driver but always break in belt before going hard and always cool belt after riding. Oem belt lasted about 80 hrs. This belt didnt last 10. Worst part is the cogs broke off and caused a check engine condition. Detected misfiring. Ruined half a day of riding before I realized it was belt causing issue. Stick with oem! -m-2016 POLARIS RANGER RZR XP 4 1000--
