[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to install, easy to setup, so glad I finally pulled the trigger and bought this auto mower! Definitely recommend to anyone who's considering one. One less chore on my list.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only have had this product for 1 weeks and I am glad I bought it. Yes wired install can be a pain for some but my yard was relatively small and easy requiring essentially a rectagular boundary. Took 2 hours including watching the install videos. Working with any issues after just 2 days 6am to 10pm grass looks great. Probably going to adjust every other day on schedule. My front yard is bit more complicated with sidewalks so maybe next year I will expand boundary.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a month ago and the grass never looked better. There is no longer any need to pull the old cranky lawnmower, put on the noise suppression earmuffs, run it for 20 minutes, empty bag every few runs, then drag to the curb and hope that bag will not tear. All of that is gone. I simply spray underside with hose and that is it. Installation was a breeze and software app is solid.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LOVE THIS MOWER, I HAD SOME TROUBLE AT THE BEGIINING SINCE MY DOGS DIG HOLES THAT WERE TOO BIG FOR THE LAWNMOWER TO RUN OVER , SO HE GOT STUCK. FORTUNATLY THE DOGS OUTGREW THEIR PUPPY STAGE AND NO MORE HOLES. MY LAWN ALWAYS LOOK PERFECT.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased two Husqvarna 315X Automowers in early summer 2020—one for the front yard and one for the back. I named them Rich and Mike (after my old bosses), and they've both been running flawlessly for six years. I keep up with monthly maintenance and store the mowers in the basement over the winter. The only issue I've had in all that time was replacing the charging cord on one mower—a minor fix. All in all, I couldn't be happier with their performance. These Automowers have taken the work out of lawn care and proven to be reliable year after year.

This is my third robot mower, and I have been mowing my lawn with robots for over 10 years. I wore out my first Robomow, my Worx was stolen, and now I have this 415x. My hope with the 415x was that it would be more like my modern robot vacuum, which maps out its space and systematically works across the surface area in geometric, non-overlapping paths - i.e., not the random bouncing process. It has GPS, AIM, and the reviews all seem to position Husqvarna as the expensive, robust option that just works. I was sold. I've used it now for about a month on the most current firmware in April 2023. The installation was more difficult due to having to install a homing wire in addition to a boundary wire. I didn't outline my trees like the installation guide recommends (that would make the installation take 2-3 times longer). Given the nature of all the recommended boundary and guide wires, I started to suspect this was not going to be the product I expected. My grass is St. Augustine, so it's thicker than other grass types. My lawn is not flat; I'd say there are 5-10% grades in places, but generally smooth. The other mowers I've had did not have trouble with it. It turns out that the 415x has very poor traction. On the first day, I got so frustrated that I boxed it up and was prepared to send it back. I did some research, and there is a traction kit for it, but I gave up trying to find the right part number. I ordered 3 different P/Ns, and all turned out to be the wrong part. There is a part that is not yet available from a USA retailer that I think must be the right one - it's the only one I have not had in hand. That was 3 weeks of waiting for parts and being disappointed. While waiting, I decided to design my own wheel and print a set - discovering that my Prusa was not big enough to print the ideal size wheel. I printed the max size that would fit in my print volume and swapped out the Husqvarna wheels. Traction problem solved. Finally, the mower was able to do something with my lawn - but, to my dismay, it's no smarter than the Robomow I used 10 years ago. It bounces around mindlessly and blindly. It gets itself into problems when it shoots past the boundary wire like the Worx unit I had. So I'd say the performance of the unit to mow a lawn is, at its best, the same as other products, and at worst, untenable. Keep in mind there is a massive premium for the 415x over other models that are "less intelligent" in Husqvarna's lineup and competitor products (2-2.5 times more for similar yard size models). I was hoping - and I say hoping because it's not clear in the sales docs, that I would be able to send this unit to a remote island in my yard that I mow by hand today. With GPS I was thinking it might be able to do that. Other mowers are able to with a boundary wire trick - but turns out the 415x can't, even with a boundary wire trick. You have to physically pick it up and move it to where you want it to mow - it has no ability to follow a boundary wire to shuttle to a remote location, like across the driveway. Hardware design-wise, I think durability might become a problem. The keypad is unprotected from dust, grass, and debris. It's only shielded from the sun. Every time you touch the unit, you need to enter a security code, so I expect the keypad is going to wear out, given that it's covered in dirt and grass all the time. The Worx units seem to be better engineered and designed. Algorithmically, the unit is just as dumb as any other unit. I can't see that the AIM and GPS have done anything to improve its performance after a month. I am well past the learning timeframe. When I look at the GPS map of the unit's path, I can't see how the GPS adds any value, as it is so inaccurate. Sometimes it's across the street, sometimes in theneighbor's yard, or in the middle of my house. GPS and AIM were the selling points of this unit for me. Lastly, the app (iOS) is not as good as I expected. Much of the functionality requires that you are connected via Bluetooth. Commands sent through the cloud are not responded to immediately, and routinely the software is completely out of sync with what the mower is doing - requiring me to terminate it and reload. The UX and controls are lagging behind Husqvarna's competitors. If I knew what I know now, I would not have purchased this unit. Maybe for the same price as competitors, but even then, probably not. Traction is the out-of-the-box issue that will be a deal-breaker for a lot of people. I was able to engineer my own solution. Everything else negative I mentioned will not be noticed - for me, it was an issue because I have the perspective of using and living with a couple of other products. This space is ripe for a regime change. The first to crush this like Robotrock did with vacuums is going to win with consumers. I think brands like Husqvarna get a lot of sales by being a yard tool brand and a prestigious one at that.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works ok, but gets stuck in flat, dry, Florida sand. Had a trailer parked , then when I moved the trailer the lawn had a bare spot. The 415 will get stuck in the dry sand. I found the heavy duty wheels on your site so I put them on. Unable to see if they work because now the mower will not turn on.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awful buying experience, awful instructions, first full day, two malfunctions lawn looks like i mowed it drunk
Really frustrated, and I just purchased the big 550 for my baseball field and think I'll cancel. I just installed my 415x, everything set, good to go. I've had it for about a week. Yesterday it says "charging station blocked," which it obv isn't. I've just spent my entire weekend going through youtube videos, forums, e.t.c trying to troubleshoot this. Husqvarnas support says "you need to contact a certified service dealer." The thing is new. It sounds like a lot of other people online have had this problem. If I don't have this fixed in the next 48 hours, I'm cancelling my 550 Epos, which is about a 7k purchase.
