This unit worked as intended and performed as intended, I charged it as instructed and used it shortly after to jump my energy depleted battery for my minivan, it took about 2 minutes from opening the hood to connect the unit and turn on my van, and it worked as expected.

I had read about this product, but I was hesitant at first. Finally, I purchased and used it during one of the worst winchills in Chicago when my car wouldn't start. My wife stood by me and was skeptical whether this would work ready to say "There goes another piece of junk!" I hooked it up and, voila, my V6 engine powered back to life. She was impressed! The Nex-Pow Portable battery charger is the best out there, hands down!

All I can say is wow, I'm impressed. I have a half-ton truck that has a trusty battery, but it sits outside and our area has been bombarded for almost 6 weeks of below normal temps, with several weeks of sub zero temps overnight. A battery maintainer helped my truck battery until temps went below zero. This unit is just amazing, it started my truck immediately. I took it with me on errands and had to use it once more. I'm hoping above freezing temps return soon. Until then, this unit will be with me when I'm driving. Shipping was very fast, too--just 2 days, not 3. The only think I would ask the manufacture to consider is making an optional battery clap set with bigger clamps or perhaps make the cord on the claps 2 inches longer. I have to work a bit to get the jaws of the negative clamp to securely attach. The carry case is so well thought out, everything fits and is well protected. It even has a USB plug for charging (which you don't even get with most phones anymore). I would recommend this to anyone who wants piece of mind knowing they won't get stranded somewhere with a dead battery.

So far we are very impressed with this thing. I have had other battery packs to jump start the car, but this one is little, lightweight, easy to use, and it works like a charm. The case it comes in keeps everything separate, but has a harder shell to keep it protected, but is still very compact and easily carried in the case. i love it.

The car jump starter has been very useful to me, especially in the 4 days in a row last week that it was very cold where I live. When using the car jump starter my car had no problems nor was it forced to turn it on. I really love it and I am very happy and satisfied with the Item.

I was reluctant about the capabilities of what appears to be a small jump starter. I have a higher compression Ford V10, and this jump starter turns the motor at a great RPM to get the truck started. I'm very impressed.

Battery unit is affordable at $49, a little larger than some, but still compact and will charge multiple times. Has 4 blue lights showing charge that would be nicer as a slider like Noco. Comes with hard zip case unlike Noco and is substantially less expensive with more power. Has LED display on the clamp like side, but is faint and difficult to read. But, you just need to hook it up and start the vehicle. Flashlight is small, isn't bright, but claims to last 35 hours. Will not charge with your phone USB; it uses USB-C that it comes with. Came charged with 3 out of 4 lights showing. The case is nice, after having a Noco that did not have one and was more expensive. This 2000 unit can hesitate for an instant before starting, but is minimal. My Noco does not hesitate, even though it is less powerful at 500. For the price, this Nexpow is affordable and is my choice because of that. I'll be using it during our Florida storms to charge my phone and tablet.

November 2023. Item arrived yesterday, 70% charge. I charged to 100% which took around 3 hours with a regular 2.1v USB. It was unplugged and sat overnight. This morning still 100% charge. My truck battery (Walmart 65-1 model, 650 CCA) is fine, so how to see if this NEXPOW 2000A Peak Car Jump Starter - 12V Portable Battery Starter is any good? Let's pretend someone stole my truck battery last night. A vehicle can't be more dead than no battery. I removed the positive cable from the battery. I plugged the supplied cables into the device. Next I connected the device black cable to the battery negative terminal and the red cable to the positive cable formerly attached to the battery. The truck -- 2001 F150 4x4 Supercab 5.4L gas with a little north of 383K miles sitting in driveway overnight. It was around 70° F last night and 75° F when trying the jump-starter. The truck had not been started yet today - cold start. This NEXPOW 2000A Peak Car Jump Starter - 12V Portable Battery Starter cranked and cold started my truck with no battery connected. There was no slow engine turning. I've cranked this truck thousands of times and know what starting it sounds like. I'd swear the jump-starter alone turned the engine faster than the battery ever did. I came back inside and connected the jump-starter to the USB charge and it still showed 100%. I would recommend this jump-starter to anyone with no mobility issues. This start was on my second attempt. First try I was too slow getting back behind the wheel and the 30 second timer expired. I had to get back under the hood to disconnect and reconnect the jump-starter. Why 4 stars and not 5? I think the included cables are too short. I had to lay the jump-starter on the battery. Second and perhaps more importantly is the device's 30 second "Timeout protection." A full minute would be much better. Your countdown begins as soon as you connect the second cable, "When the smart clip is triggered to conduct." Drawing power could be an under the hood light like my truck or perhaps a newer vehicle sensor checking if the key is close enough to operate the push button start or maybe an interior light because the vehicle door is open. Something is going to trigger conduction when the second cable is connected. Many independent older folks use a cane or walker; maybe they have a not-so-good knee or hip. I believe it could be difficult to make the cable connection, double check the connection, and get from the vehicle hood to seated behind the steering wheel AND turning the key in under 30 seconds. The jump-starter worked better than expected for me in my trial, just needed to get seated behind the steering wheel and cranking quickly. People with mobility limitations should time themselves from cable connecting position under the hood to seated and turning the vehicle key before purchasing.

It's a good product. very compact easy to store in your vehicle. only problem is it will not hold a charge indefinitely without use. if you're keeping this in your vehicle for emergency purposes, I would suggest checking it every two weeks to make sure the charge is good. After one jump of a Chevy avalanche power was down to 73%.

I read the reviews previously written on this item and decided to take a chance. The item arrived on time and I fully charged it before needing it. The map light was left on overnight in our Subaru and drained the battery. I attempted to start the vehicle with this charger. Nothing! It allowed the key remote to work but that was pretty much the extent of its boost. Air temp was in the 40's. Hooked up battery cables from my car to the Subaru and it started immediately. Take away is that this is not a very powerful charger. Perhaps it would have worked in the summer but I'll never know because I've returned it. There was no problem with the return through Walmart.
