AXE Messy Look Hair Paste Flexible, 2.64 oz (Pack of 6)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product from Axe for free in exchange for my honest opinions and review. I am impressed of the quality of this product. I have used this messy paste before, and Axe has upgraded the quality of the paste. It came in a sleek black container that gives it a premium look and feel. The paste itself does what it describes that it will do; it held up my hair and gave it a matte messy look. I have short/medium length hair and I can keep my hair in a comb-over style all day. I was able to control my hair in the style I wanted while maintaining its flexibility. It also smells amazing and washes off easily so it won't leave your hair greasy. I will definitely recommend this product to my friends and family. Great Job Axe!

From a females outlook: I've been using this product for more then a year now, and hope it never changes! I realize this is a men's product, but it performs just exactly like I want it too. It allows lift & separation without looking greasy, or stiff, or adding a masculine smell, and allows my shorter style to look exactly like I want it to!

What a disappointment. I have been using Axe Messy Hair Paste for years, in the plastic container and it worked wonders! The only thing that worked for my hair. I figured the packaging just changed but I was mistaken. The whole product changed. It is terrible. It is greasy, watery, and instead of making my hair messy, it makes it flat and has no style to it whatsoever. This was a poor decision. Bring back the original product!!

The store I normally get the product from is now carrying the new tin version of the messy look which doesn't bother me. But the product itself is what bothers me. I have thick hair and this is the only product I have found that can hold it properly without giving it the really greasy look and that's what is inside the tin now. It's alot runnier than before and barely holds my hair like it used to. I've been using this product for like 5+ years and it sucks that I might have to find something new.

My store started carrying the new small containers and at first I was a little upset I was buying less for the same price. And now the stuff doesn't work the same as it used too and won't hold. It's just greasy.... What happened man!? I liked this stuff but not anymore.

I can't understand why Axe would change this recipe to a greasy viscose pot instead of what it used to be - thick paste that would hold your hair in place. What were they thinking?? I also dislike the new branding and although it claims to have the same quantity, the product goes MUCH quicker, but maybe that's because I'm using so much to try and achieve what the old product did.... just brutal

The new, watered down formula that was introduced with the latest style of tin does not perform nearly as well as the previous version. I had been happily using the previous formula for years -- it worked great on my thick, straight hair. Now I am searching for a replacement. I am currently exploring other brands, but I plan to try the Axe Adrenaline product as well. If you don't have super thick hair, this product might work for you. It no longer works for me.

I've been using axe messy look hair paste for years, since I first saw it appear on shelves back in 2009/2010. It's always been the perfect product for my hair. Now that they've switched from the plastic packaging to the metal packaging I have two complaints. The product itself doesn't have the same texture or hold that it used to. It's more of a pomade now than a paste. Unless I got a bad batch. Also, with the new metal tin there seems to be significantly less product than what we got in the plastic container. Bring back the old formula please.

I used the messy look paste for years. Now they changed the container so that you get less product, and they changed the formula which is much greasier. It doesn't hold anywhere NEAR as well as the old stuff. Until they change it back, I'll be using something else.

I decided I would try the new stuff and see if it is like the older product, but it is terrible compared to the previous version. I used it for my hair and mustache, but it will not hold either like it used to. Go find a different product with a better hold.
