Bachmann Trains N Scale Super Chief Ready To Run Electric Powered Model Train Set

My son has an extensive train collection and had requested this as well. It fits well with his other tracks and the cars and engine look sturdy. We are pleased, thank you.

Terrific train set. Looks and runs great in my train layout.

The F7A ran really smoothly and had no problems going over turnouts. The freight car and the gondola could not navigate around curves that are less than 8 1/2” radius. Better to run on curves that are 9 3/4” or more. The controller made it possible to run loco at slow speed. Good quality except 1 set of caboose wheels were loose.

The only thing I find odd is the engine sits so low on the tracks that it scrapes along the tracks. The train cars sit higher and don't do this.

The couplings between cars and the train do not work. They don't work between the railroad cars and the train. One has to manually connect each one and it is hard to keep the wheels on the track when doing it and they are not compatible at all with standard couplings found on other N gauge cars and trains. Evidently Bachmann knows there is a problem as they furnished other couplers, but it is difficult changing the bad ones out due to very small screws and tight locations. They also furnish only short couplers when longer couplers in some cases are needed. The track doesn't connect with traditional track well and is not easy to assembly due to the metal track connectors being hard to line up.
