I’ve tried a lot of succulent soils over the years, and this one really stands out. The texture is spot on — light, gritty, and fast-draining — which is exactly what succulents and cacti need to thrive. No soggy soil, no root rot issues. What I love most is that it’s organic and already well-balanced, so I didn’t have to mix in extra perlite or sand like I’ve had to do with other brands. My plants settled in quickly and look healthier and happier within weeks. Also appreciate that it’s clean and easy to work with — no weird debris or heavy clumps. Perfect for repotting indoor succulents or refreshing tired soil. If you’re serious about keeping your succulents alive (and actually thriving), this mix is worth it. Will definitely be buying again.
This mix delivers excellent drainage and aeration thanks to its blend of perlite, horticultural sand, and aged bark. The added dolomitic limestone helps balance pH, making it ideal for healthy root development. It’s a great fit for small indoor planters like mugs or teacups, and the organic nutrients support slow, steady growth. Just keep an eye on moisture — it can dry out quickly in warm spots. Perfect for repotting mature succulents or building compact arrangements. My plants seem to be loving it so far.
I had to out and Buy new plants just so i could give this a try. I really like it, it smells earthy and My plants did very well im going to Buy more in the future.
This back to the roots mix was easy to carry. We used it to top off our aloe vera plant and to replant a broken aloe branch. Both plants are healthy and strong. This soil aka allows excellent absorbance of water, helping our plants to stay well hydrated.
My succulents love this mix and I’m so excited for summer time when I can really plant some more succulents! Decent drainage and keeps just enough moisture. Easy to use. Love the bag size… perfect for get and using just the right amount without having a ton to store for later use.
So it does drain pretty good it’s been raining in Fl in December which cause my plant to get flooded but this help them get back up it doesn’t smell that bad which helps a lot due to allergies.
This product came in and has me heading to Lowe's. I've never cared for a succulent before but from what I've researched, this is good quality soil for it.
My little succulent planter box needed fresh cactus soil. I was very impressed with the quality and composition of this bag of soil. It drains well and looks so far to be making my little cactus babies happy!
I love cactus and succulents so this is a must have.
Found what appeared to be large branches in the product. Since I was using smaller pots, these had to be discarded.
