I ordered the bracket kit on the advice of one of the sales representatives, I was looking for a bed cover and was advised I needed the bracket kit to allow the cover to fit and still use the Backrack that I already had. Installation was easy and quick, it fit as I expected and the cover works with it. I'm very happy.
I bought a new truck and didn't want to have another broken rear window and I found this solution. It will also allow me to carry a ladder without any other processes needed. My only question is the tonneau adapter raises the Bacrkrack up so the third light is in the screen. Not a problem but the hole doesn't line up, but does protect the light. All in all I am very happy and will be putting them on all my trucks.
The kit was necessary to replace the original kit to accommodate the roll up bed cover. The only issue was with the cover tie downs. With the new rack kit inplace the cover tie down straps are way too short to latch the cover. I have to come up with something. The cover tie downs need to be adjustable for length (Gator SRX).
Everything was good
Despite being advertised as "high enough" to allow the roll-top Tonneau cover to be secured underneath with its snaps, there is insufficient clearance under the headache rack to physically attach the cover strap to the locking bracket. Have to use bungee cords to secure the rollup top.
For the price, well made noticeable weight in all the parts, no skimping on using the correct hardware. However, there are no installation instructions included. A manufacturing company with engineers that design a rack to fit a specific truck and have installed the rack for fit and function, one would think that they could have at the minimum written instructions and parts list. They have a BOM so why not have a list? The reality, it took a couple of minutes to organizes the parts and figure out how it all attached. I have the tenue cover installation kit, so there are additional parts that raise the rack. It is actually error proofed as the parts can only fit one way, but it took fitting the parts to understand. However, there is a clamp for the rear of the attachment that still has me confused. Thus, a parts list and a diagram with a description would be the minimal that a reasonable person would expect from a high quality company.
Products ok. Ordering is a nightmare
Overall a decent headache rack ,can't complain about that. However the rack came shipped in no box, with just a sticker on it. This cause the rack to get several scratches which damaged the paint. Now every time it rains the rack drips orange rust all over the side of my truck. . . Not too happy about this. These racks should definitely come wrapped and shipped in a box. Real truck looking to save costs causes the product to arrive in unacceptable condition.
