Purchased 13 April, 2018 and had it shipped to the nearest Walmart (for free) and picked it up a week later. Came in two boxes. Instructions were good. The key to success with building these swing sets are: - Open the boxes and try to separate the pieces into groups. It'll be easier when trying to find a piece. They have a letter / number stamp to identify different pieces from the instructions. If you can't read the stamp, the instructions gives you the exact measurements of the board. I had to use a tape measure a couple of times to ensure I had the right board, although the majority of the boards were stamp and they were readable. - Patience, patience, patience! Seriously, don't rush, just take your time, double checking your using the right boards with the right hardware to assemble it. If you rush, you'll make mistakes and it will take more time. - While you technically don't need a drill (cordless preferably), but I can't imagine trying to assemble one of these without one. When using the drill, don't go to fast. The wood isn't SUPER tough, so you can do damage if you are trying to go to fast. Slow and steady win's the race. - You assemble different components (walls / seats / etc), then you bolt them all together to get the swing set. You need to REALLY make sure the area your putting the swing set is level. You don't want this thing rocking. I consider myself to be a very experienced handy man, and it took me and a friend of mine to assemble this in about 7 hours as we didn't want to rush and mess something up. The majority of time is spent looking for the right board(s) / hardware for the step you are assembling. Its not hard, just time consuming. Overall, I'd rate it 4.5 stars. The materials are good and for the most part, the holes lined up appropriately when building it. Feels pretty solid for the appropriate age group recommended by manufacturer. I have two kids ( one is 21 months old, the other is 5 years old). They both LOVE this!!! It doesn't take up a ton of space and has everything they need to keep them happy / busy. Hope this helps, I'd definitely recommend this one if you don't have a ton of space in the backyard but want to give your kids something to keep them busy!
Gone are the days of pre-planning trips to the park. Hustling to get ready after work or on the weekends, but more importantly, making sure the kids are ready and that you have all of their “accessories” including food, a change of clothes, etc. with you as you head (which in most cases means drive) to the park. Now it's all in the convenience of your own backyard. This structure is super sturdy and well-built with gorgeous cedar wood that has been treated to prevent any damage from the elements which is great given the large amount of fog and morning dew in our neighborhood. There are large strong bolts to hold everything securely in place. It's allows a safe and secure playing environment for your kids which provides you with peace of mind and the ability to get more accomplished while your kids enjoy hours of fun. And to top it all off there are so many different features that can be used at once that this is the perfect attraction for a play date. Your house will be the play date destination spot! Moms and dads can sit nearby and visit while keeping an eye on the kids without having to worry about traffic or older, more rowdy children running near where the little ones are playing. It is designed in a way where there is a lot to do but structured to not take up an excessive amount of space. There is something for everyone from swings, to a slide, to the little play area with a bench, as well as, the sandbox underneath the tower portion of the structure. The convenience and time-saving are wonderful perks to having this in your own backyard but the joy you'll see on your kids' faces every time you open the backdoor will be priceless!
First off, I do not and have never worked for Walmart so my review is completely unbiased. Ordered this and it was delivered a week later. The price was decent (on sale). I am a 46 year old woman who's pretty handy and it took two evenings (after work, dinner, etc), a full day on Saturday and part of a Sunday to assemble this myself. It looks great and my daughter loves it. Seems pretty sturdy but I'll be sealing the wood to make it last longer. I also replaced one of the factory swings with a 40" spider swing and, although it's a tiny bit larger, it works just fine and, again, my daughter just loves it. It's a pretty tall set, as well. My 4 yr old is 3'9 so she's pretty tall and this set is a good size for her to grow into. She also loves the periscope so she can "spy" on the boy next door and the ships wheel lets her pretend she's sailing a pirate ship. The bad things about this order are that it's shipped through Pilot shipping and I'm not impressed at all with their service. While the set came fairly quickly for being shipped across the country to us, I feel it could have been a bit faster. Also, one of the boxes was open on one end and, I discovered during assembly, there were two key pieces missing. I'll probably call the manufacturer for replacements but the quick fix was to head to the lumber yard and spend an additional $5 on replacement wood and I ended up cutting and drilling the boards myself so my excited daughter didn't have to wait an extra 1-3 (or more) weeks to play on her new play set. There was also one board that I thought was missing that was just not labeled correctly so I ended up buying replacement wood for that piece, as well. I'm not super happy about the tarp covering the top of the house. I feel it should be a little wider so it can be attached better in case of strong winds and to help keep some rain out. We'll see how well that holds up over the summer. At least the structure is designed so that, if it were to blow away or be destroyed, a better replacement would be easy to install. I was impressed the company includes some rebar for anchoring the set, too. I haven't done that yet, but it's definitely on my to-do list. I also haven't attached the bench yet as shown in the pictures. Overall, it was a good purchase at a fair price and the kiddo really loves it. Looking forward to playing on it with her over the summer. Thanks Walmart.
I got this for my 2yo for her birthday and she loves it best gift I could have got her. The only thing make sure you set aside a full day to put it together and follow the instructions closely. Everything p everything please place And a way to be put in or it will be off. With that said I have had mine up for about 3 weeks now and everything is still good
It took my husband and dad (who are both savvy with tools/building things) two 8ish hour days to put together. It is very sturdy and we were all impressed for the price. Both of them were able to stand in the tower part without any concerns. I have climbed up the ladder and played in it with my daughter, as well as went down the slide and used the swing. I'm 5'7 130 lbs for reference. I did a lot of searching and comparing swing sets before buying and this seemed to have the most for the most affordable price, with the best reviews. Even so, it has met and exceeded my expectations. I am very pleased and would 100% recommend.
My father and Mother in Law went together for Santa this year and bought this set for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I choose this for the colors cause the brown and yellow sets just didn't pop like this. Took me a total of about 5-6 hours to build it alone then my father for 2-3 hours to put the main sections together. BEYOND PLEASED with the construction and QUALITY. No bad pieces of wood, no Splinters.. PERFECT ITEM. If i had to buy again I Would. I do Recommend this swing set if you have the space. Very Easy to put together, Just lay out all the 10k nuts and bolts, lol on the ground and go step by step and you will fly right threw it. AWESOME PRODUCT. Ordering the infant seat to go with it cause our daughter just isnt ready for a regular seat yet.
Make sure to have someone to help when putting together the set. Have all the pieces accounted for and have the patience to put these together as it will take several hours. However, the end result is priceless - our daughters having plenty of fun. My daughters, 3 and 7 year old, are excited to play in this new play set. They can swing, hang, slide, and climb. There's a sand box, which if you don't want to fill up with sand, you can fill with plastic balls. There's a snack table and seat for them to rest until it's time to play again. Even I can sit and enjoy a snack with them. In all, we enjoy this play set.
Great product for the price. Took my father and I, 30 and 50, about 12 hours to finish. You need 2 people or you're seriously going to struggle. Each board and bag of supplies is marked fairly clearly to make assembly easier. We did improvise a few times to get things tighter. My kids, 3 and twin 9 year olds, absolutely love it. With the pandemic going on this was just the relief I needed, they don't want to come inside!
We got this for our 7 year old twins' birthday. At the time the price was rolled back so it was an even better deal but I would have considered it for its regular price too. It's a really nice set. It took about 9 hours to assemble, and that was someone we hired to do it. Our kids love it, it's the perfect size for our backyard which is not small but its by no means a huge backyard so we were trying to be aware of the space it would take up. The only thing is the monkey bars go to a dead end because of the back railing from the top part. It doesn't make sense that there is no back opening for the monkey bar side on the upper area for the kids to climb on to after crossing the monkey bars. My daughter just turns herself around and takes the monkey bars back to the ladder, and my son just climbs over the railing to get in from the monkey bars which I don't love. It doesn't make sense to us but they are enjoying it just the same so I guess it's not a big deal.
The wood cracks so easily when putting together. 3 boards are split when taking out of the box. We made it work. I just hope this lasts since it wasn't cheap. My kids do love it i just wished the wood was stronger than what it is.
