Backyard Discovery Oakmont Cedar Wooden Swing Set with 4 foot dek height.

Wal-Mart done a great job shipping The unit and The order process was hassle free. The directions were complete and easy to understand. The directions called for two people but I was able to assemble this set by myself . It took a little longer but the assembly was pretty straight forward..If assembling this without help give yourself a day. A half day with help...It seems sturdy enough for my soon to be three year old grandaughter..I hope she enjoys it.

Instructions were great, put it together in about 5 hours with my dad. Keeping up with the hardware was tricky but we had plenty of everything we needed. My kids have had a blast with it so far and the quality is great, it will be a great play set for years to come.

I got this set for my 7 yr old daughter (she's a tall, skinny 7) she LOVES it!!! It is super cute and well worth the price. No doubt that more expensive sets are nicer but I definitely feel like this one is worth the money!!! I'm a 40 yr old female and I built this set with the help of another female in an 8 hour day. No clue what I was doing but if you're actually paying attention to the directions it's pretty easy (hole placement, etc) NOTE: pretty silly mistake but I missed the bit for the power drill and built it with the hand tool!!! Otherwise, I could've cut out a couple of extra hours!!! CUTE SET AND WORTH THE PRICE!!

We ordered this for our 2 year old son after looking at MANY different sets. We wanted one that offered enough but was easy on our wallets and this was perfect. It came on time, box was slightly damaged but all pieces were intact. Its surprisingly all packed in one package. We took the time to take out all labeled parts/pieces which was very helpful in the process of building. The wood is stained and smells great, however we will be putting a clear coat on it to perserve it longer. This set should only be used for children because its not the strongest of wood. The finished product is beautiful & our son loves it! We also purchased the steering wheel but had to place an extra piece of wood behind it because the screw requires a minimum depth of 2". It works great and adds extra fun to the fort area. We also added our sons baby swing in place of the bars (hes too young for that yet) and he loves it! We anticipate many years of use & we are very pleased with our purchase!

After doing much research and trying to stay within a predetermined budget, we settled on the Oakmont. We selected free shipping "site to store" and picked it up within days with a small pickup truck since the box is 9' long. The product meets our expectations and we believe for our size yard and age of child, it is the best value for $500 and under. However, that said, for the price- expect the wood to be on the soft side, and split/splinter easily sometimes. {If you are looking for something thicker and more durable, this is not for you; You may want to spend $1,000 or more for something else, but we didn't want to spend more and it works for us.} The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Once you lay everything out (put a tarp or something under if using a concrete surface area to lay the pieces so they don't get dinged up, or use the grass), putting it together was pretty straight forward. The wood and metal pieces are conveniently labeled and we were not missing any parts. It took two people 6-7 hours one day and the same amount on another day, but that was due to needing to level the ground- and we were also not really in a hurry! Soon we will find a suitable wood sealant to protect it as it comes stained for color only. Another day we spent working on the sandbox. We laid down landscaping material ($10 roll), secured it to the inside of the base and filled it with Play Sand (four 50lb. bags at $3.60 ea. were sufficient), then we cut a tarp to size and installed Velcro to the base and the edges of the tarp for a secure closing to prevent erosion, rain, vermin, pests and wildlife from entering when not in use. (Pictures shown are prior to the sandbox and cover install.) Later we needed to replace a couple items within the 30 day warranty period and the website was easy to make that request. Additionally, we purchased a steering wheel, telescope and flag to complete the look of the play set. Backyard Discovery was a good experience and the Oakmont is as we expected, it looks great in the yard, and the windows and door are very cute too. It made a fantastic 5th birthday present for our son!

The swing set arrived in one well packed box. I spent the 1st 3 hours sorting the labeled wood pieces and the numerous nuts and bolts into labeled cupcake tins & parts buckets. This was well worth the time. I busted worked through the well written (and pictured) instruction book one step at a time, and everything went very well. I worked alone, taking my time to make sure everything was tight, done right and as square as possible. It took me three days working alone and on-and-off. I only needed 10 minutes of help from my wife for connecting the swing beam to the "fort". I could have done it without her, but it with a little faster working together for this step. I completed the important anchoring step and the swing was ready to use. This swing is made out of cedar, not pressure treated two-by-fours, so if you are to heavy, it will creak when you walk on it,. So, if you remember it is for the kids and not the adults, you should have no problems.

VERY CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS, EASY TO FOLLOW. IT REALLY DOES TAKE 10 HOURS TO SET UP! BUT NOW IT IS DONE...PLAY ON! THE ONLY REASON I DIDN'T GIVE IT 5 STARS IS BECAUSE OF THE WOOD QUALITY...IT IS A LITTLE SOFT/CHEAP SO IT WILL HAVE TO BE MAINTAINED IF YOU WANT IT TO HOLD UP. I ADDED A FEW SMALL METAL "L" BRACKETS FOR REINFORCEMENT ON A COUPLE AREAS.

Took my husband and I about 2 days to build, Material is "Alright", I would limit the use of the powerdrill because the wood is easy to crack. I suggest laying out all your pieces before hand and having an area to lay out your hardware. Overall, for the price, it's a nice wooden swing set, make sure you select a level surface for the set or you will run into the whole swing set rocking/swaying and it is not easy to move after you have it built and anchored. Before Anchoring, I suggest checking the beam (from which the swings hang from) with a level, if the beam is not level, you will experience the rocking. Also, the swing set looks bigger then it really is, I wouldn't suggest buying if you have children over 8 years old. Our children are 4 and 5 and it just fits them, I would consider this to be a basic set, Swinging and 1 person sliding at a time, as the upper deck is not large enough for kids to hang out and only fits about 1 kid at a time.

After owning this for 1 yr. its not holding up. One of the main legs ( beam) has long cracks and is not steady as we thought it would be for a play set of 500.00 . My grand child is less then 50 lbs.the only one playing on it and that's only on a few weekends out of the summer. I'm very disappointed in this purchase,I would not buy this again.

I bought this swing set for my son and i thought they looked very nice but as i was putting them together it really disappointed me because they are made with very cheap materials. As i was tightening bolts and screws the wood would make popping noises. That is when i thought i just spent $500 dollars on a swing set that is trash. I don't even think they are going to last me a year with out them getting rotten or broken.
