Backyard Discovery Weston Cedar Swing Set

Let me tell ya...this set has what looks like a million pieces! My wife and I laid everything out on the ground and took inventory. Takes just about an hour to do that. Next, we opened the hardware bag and placed each individual bag on a table for ID purposes. Then we got to work! I looked over the instructions and we proceeded on. Started on it at 10 am on a Saturday and finished just after 5 pm the same day. Took about an hours worth of lunch and breaks. My tip for this build, is to pay attention to the E1, E2, E3, and E4 boards. It is critical that these boards face a certain way for pilot holes to line up properly during later installation. If not, then you get to make your own...lol. This was a fun build and I was very grateful to my wife for her help. A good helper makes it go together very smoothly. Our grandson is almost two years old and he loves it! My neighbors daughter is 7 or 8 and she is enjoying it as well! We are very pleased with this product!

This swing set is the best! I was scared to spent this type of money but it was so worth it! I paid another 200 for assembly...it took the guys I hired two 4-5 hour days. We didn't regret paying because we are tired parents, who want to watch and have a drink at the end of the day... lol. Tips...the workers predrilled and I also use sand bags to hold it down. The quality of the wood is excellent, so far I am very happy. My son just turned 3 and this playground is for his birthday. In this Covid-19 era I thought my son still deserves to be a kid and play outside. He has fun ...big fun... and mommy has rest!

I read the reviews for this swing set and saw many people say the wood was cheap. Not sure if the company changed the wood or if the people just were being to picky. The wood is great. We built ours in the rain! Everything was there. Everything was marked. There were a few things that we had to line up an guess where to put the screws but it was more common sense then anything. (It was on the bench that's connected) we are very happy with this swing set. We bought it for our one year old daughters birthday. While building the tower that holds the slide and bench, we didn't have a ladder so I climbed in it and did all the work from inside. I'm 5'8" and about 140 lbs and I felt complete safe on it, and it was just the tower, we hadn't connected the swing part yet. Very sturdy!

It took all weekend to assemble between two persons, and a couple (non-major) pieces were missing, and the book had some minor errors in the number to use. Other than that, me and my little girl are very happy, looks great, and it didn't cost that much compared to the other playgrounds, so I will be happy if it lasts for a couple of years. Wood looks cheap, but the price was great. Strong enough for children. Adults should not use. I would COMPLETELY recommend!

Overall great for the price. At the end we did have a board split but we will just call and get a replacement part. My kids love it! Our boys are 1.5 and almost 4. We bought it for our oldest son's birthday. For the price I feel it was a very good purchase!

Compared with similar products that have similar features, I believe that this swing set is one of the best values around. Having said this, be prepared to spend a full day to assemble it yourself. The instructions are not bad; there is simply a lot to do. I assembled this by myself, but I did need my wife's assistance for a couple of steps such as putting together the slide and connecting pieces of the frame. The instructions indicate that you need various tools, but all you really need is a power drill with certain size drill bits and a screw driver bit. I recommend doing as much as you can in your garage or on a patio because you will invariably drop screws/bolts/washers and they can be hard to find in the grass. Also, start by laying out all of the pieces in an organized fashion because it will end up saving you time. Most importantly, note where the larger pieces of wood have small holes drilled on one side because while the instructions don't highlight the importance of this, the location of these small holes becomes important later on.

This is a nice set once it's assembled. It took about 5/6 hours for two pretty handy people to get it put together. The instruction were clear but the pieces are not marked well so some pieces where hard to tell from others. Over all not a terrible experience and it looks great.

This playground isn't for someone that has never built anything. The directions are good but only tell you so much. There are 91 boards in the box most of them are shorter than 32". When assembled you see how small it is. My child that is 5 is almost to big for the tower. There is no way she'll use it till the age of 10. When completed with stakes in the ground this swing set is surprisingly solid. All in all I believe it's a good set just a little on the small side

After reading reviews regarding this product, I was worried about how long it would take to put this together. There were 2 of us, and we had it put together in 7 1/2 hours. The bags of hardware are all labeled and the parts are labeled. One of us would pick out all the wood and hardware per each page, and the other would start putting it together. It worked out wonderfully. The directions were very easy to understand. Although, we did not know that there were bits for a drill that had the star end on them. We used the little hand tools the whole time. The bits would have made it go quicker. One other hold up was that the 4 main beams for the fort attached to the slide had holes on one side which needed to be pointed outward. WE did not know this so we ended up having to take it totally apart and redo it, which also added some time. But it was very well set up. We are totally satisfied with how it turned out and my granddaughter LOVES it!!!

It wasn't hard to put together, instruction were a little backwards, so we put it together out of order. It's very sturdy, structure, ladder, swings. The slide is not, it's a 3 piece slide and the center is flexible, not sturdy for larger child luckily mine is only 4yrs. The tower is small again not ideal for larger child. I would've splurged the extra money to get a larger set had I known this on was so small.
