Backyard Discovery Windham 14'x12' Modern Galvanized Steel Pergola, Sail Canopy, PowerPort

We ordered two of the steel pergolas for our large aluminum deck which faces the west. They were pretty easy to assemble and appear to be made of quality materials. My only complaints are that we were short a few washers, and one of the fabric shades covers is around 6” shorter on each side than the other. After attaching roll up shades in a few places to protect from the evening sun, our deck is now useable all day long. It has become an oasis and my favorite place to hang out.

I couldn't be more pleased with this pergola. It was excellent in every way. For starters, installation was very easy. The provided manual plus the app with 3D instructions made the process simple. It's a big project but I got five friends to come over and we spent the night before assembling all the parts and then put the whole thing up in a couple of hours. All the parts were well marked, high quality, and assembled as instructed. It's really cool that the parts all come in bags with the part number outside. This means you aren't peeling stickers off. Moreover, everything went together exactly as intended. Every rail, screw, and part was easily fit and perfectly constructed. This is a really high quality product. The end result is an absolutely classic, beautiful pergola. I had a patio poured with four 12" footings and the pergola is the perfect height and size. It's turned a hot unused spot of grass in our yard to a modern outdoor living space. I added a hot tub, fire pit, and chairs and we now have the new favorite spot in the backyard.

It looks beautiful. It was easy to assemble. It just took me about six hours to build.. customer service is very good. The delivery guys dropped the boxes and a couple of pieces got scratched, but just a quick email to customer service was enough to have the damaged parts sent right away. I will totally buy a bigger one for our backyard.

Construction took 6 hours for 2 middle aged women to put together. Most of the time is actually putting smaller pieces together and getting a good assembly line going. The installation did have some areas where it was more difficult to fit together, but just tweaked areas and got everything in place snugly and holes lined up. Tips: have 2-3 ladders, 2 sets of drills. The biggest issue we're the concrete screws at the very end, securing the posts into concrete footings - the screws are flat head, and even with pre drilling the hole, it is just really difficult to get a strong grab on a flat head screw - kept sliding off. One idea would be to go and buy different Phillips or other concrete screws. Great product - super sturdy. Came with no dings. Would recommend.

Took about 5 or 6 hours for 3 fairly capable adults to assemble. Very sturdy. Be careful assembling the horizontal joists to align holes. We had 4 middle screws (2 on opposite long sides) that we couldn't get in because the holes weren't perfectly aligned. Didn't seem to impact stability. A magnetic screwdriver would be helpful bc there's a step where the screws can fall into joists & become unretrievable. Last tip, don't forget to place the plastic corner covers (cosmetic feature) before you join the joists. We did. Not worth the time to disassemble IMO, but you might be annoyed when you look at the corners see those covers still lying in the plastic bags. :D Pergola looks great and transforms the cement pad in our yard. We fit 2 full size couches, 2 large chairs, and a coffee table underneath without it feeling cramped.

This Pergola brought life to our backyard. Very sleek and modern. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Shipping took a little bit but the wait was worth it.

We bought this last month and love it. It took us about 6 hours to put it together. But we'll worth the time. Its very sturdy and beautiful. Wonderful shade pergola . The price was worth it for such a great product. I would recommend this to anyone.

I bought this pergola about 2 months ago and couldn't be happier. This is the second backyard discovery buildings I bought. The quality and ease of assembly is what sold me. I put the pergola together by myself over two days. Would definitely recommend.

Only reason why I shorted it a star is because of the height. It needs to be another foot taller. Ours wouldn't clear our hot tub lid. So I had to improvise and put it up on blocks and anchor and then put landscaping bricks around each pillar a ways up just to make it look good. That was the only difference between the 4 star and 5 star. Other wise this is great quality. Great build. Looks amazing.

We just erected the pergola and it's very nice- the the finish and scale are great! Not too hard to assemble however the tarp is disappointing - as the shorter sides have no way to not sag horribly and should have tie backs that allow it to stretch fully. Lastly, the 16' metal joists/headers do sag also I guess due to the 3 pieces connected over such a long span but despite these factors it's a very nice build!
