BACtrack S35 Personal Breathalyzer

I bought this a few months ago and it is very handy and accurate. At a recent tailgate, 4 of us compared the results to a Sheriff's field tester. It was equal or within .01 on each test.

Easy to use & makes me feel safer, and I tell my friends about it. I don't D&D, but like to keep a check on myself at home.

I bought this 3 months ago, and I am very happy I did. It makes me aware of what I am drinking and how much prior to driving. Outstanding product and easy to use and is very accurate. I will keep it calibrated to ensure it's accuracy

Since buying my BACtrack I've experimented at home to see how my BAC rises and falls based on the number of drinks, time elapsed, and having a full or empty stomach. I have found that I need to wait a quarter hour after drinking to avoid an overly high BAC or at least to rinse my mouth out before taking the test. It seems residual alcohol in the mouth immediately after taking a drink gives an unrealistically high BAC. But the breathalyzer provides good basic information for making decisions when I'm out and about.

I really like the portability and ease of use but I question the accuracy at times. Despite several attempts from a friend who was clearly intoxicated the readings were too low to be realistic.

In general, this thing works ok. I have a breathalyzer in my car and wanted to make sure that I never tried to start my car with a BRAC over 0. There was one time when this device told me that I was at .02 and immediately after, my car told me that I was at 0. There was another time when this device told me that I was at 0 and my car told me that I was at .02. Unfortunately, I have had some problems with this little unit. I trust it to a certain degree, but it's not as accurate as I had hoped.

For the first month it appeared to work very well. I may have used it once per weekend and it seemed to be accurate, though I did not have any other device to compare it with. Then it stopped reading anything over .02%. I've used it during roughly 5 different settings where I was well over .02%, as well as others that tested it, and it read either .01% or .02%. Unfortunately, this moderately nicer model doesn't appear to be any better than the cheap ones.

This was a waste of money. Nothing about it is right. I am so upset I wasted money on this. First off I tested it out after having it for a month and after having a few drinks it still showed 0.00. I would love to talk to someone from the company about my problems with this. I am so dissapointed in this.

Bought this yesterday. After the cleaning process we are still handing terrible results. After a night of drinking it shows .02 no matter what. Disappointed that we have spent money on this product!

This tester was so inaccurate that it could not be dependably used to test alcohol levels. When it counted, I couldn't get meaningful readings. Perhaps mine was just broken?
