Easy to assemble and great golf accessory. Packed so well that the remote was a bit difficult to find.
Compact folded size, light weight cart and battery. State of the art technology. Straight tracking.
Pros: Great Cart, easy to lift and get in the car. Storage compartment is good Cons: Wish it had a brake for when it is in the car. It rolls around. Wish the wheels turned less abruptly, it is a bit jerky when turning. It does not go up big hills, either need to help it or go around them. Doesn't get great traction in the dessert if on any kind of incline. Wish scorecard could attach to fit on top of the storage compartment.
I bought this a month ago and have 7 rounds on it. Over all I really like this cart but it took 2 rounds to learn how to manage it compared to my previous Bat Caddy. It's a very smooth operating machine. It's very light weight and battery insert and removal is easy. However it is very unstable on aide hills and to light on the front end going uphill. Both can be managed easily by holding the handle under those conditions. The features it offers outweigh any negitives. Those features are drink holder, storage both in console and under console, umbrella storage built into cart, sand bottle mount on handle, sturdy seat mount plus phone holder built in. There is concern whether battery is heavy enough and concerns on new design motors inside wheels. It's has made walking the course more enjoyable
I now have 255 miles or about 50 rounds on my Volt. I am still getting two rounds per charge. The same thing that is a plus for this cart, (weight, storage, compaction, battery life, manual maneuverability) is its downfall. It tips over way too easily when it encounters any side or abrupt upslope and downslopes. It won't hold a straight tracking line with the front wheel in swivel mode. It bounces all over the place requiring constant course correction. The “console” is useless for anything other than small items. It certainly won't hold a scorecard conveniently or at all. Because the cart is continually requiring course correction which puts friction on the tires, they are wearing out rapidly.
Bought this cart a few weeks ago and I'm up in the air as to whether it is worth the price. You have to really pay attention as it will up and stop right in front of you. After inquiring about it I was told that it is a safety feature where if it goes 80 yards without any input from remote it will stop. I guess I get that. Today it started turning right on its own, just a slight turn but a turn nonetheless. It was a windy day and the wind would blow the cart around a bit. So I am still up in the air like I said about this purchase.
I've had this Volt since it came out and the nice feature is the folding for transport, that is the main reason I got it. The problems with the Volt is the narrow wheel base increases the tipping problem, the battery in the remote had to be replaced early on, the manual controls are not useful so just turn off the battery and push it, the Volt will stop abrubtly and or turn abruptly so be careful it doesn't run into you are someone else. I don't have an issue with Bag Boy but this Volt was not well thought out and I'm sure they know now because I'm not the only review that mentions these same issues.
I used it all last summer and played about 30 rounds with the Volt so these are impressions based on a fair amount of usage. I think it's a good cart but does have some things which could be improved. First off, the good. for an electric push cart, it's very light and compact. It's only 29 lbs fully loaded and folds up almost as compact as my previous Nitron Bag Boy. I also considered the new Alphard and the MGI Navigator but they both weighed about 40 lbs. This was very important to me as I wanted something light and easy to lift in and out of my car. The thing is also easy to drive and the remote control feels good in the hand. Now the cons. I feel this thing needs more juice. Bag Boy promises 36 holes and while that may be true on flat courses, I typically play on courses which are somewhat hilly. I usually play an 18 and then a 9 in a typical week and the thing is down to one bar. Could it make it? Maybe, but I don't want to test it out. The second cons is this thing need better rear wheels! If I play early in the morning with still some wetness on the grass, the cart will not climb a steep hill. Even once the grass is dry, I still usually have to give it some assist. In summary, it's a solid cart that meets my needs but it could stand some improvement. Give us a longer battery and improve the traction on the rear wheels and then it would be perfect!
I've been using this since April and overall it's a good cart, that being said the anti-tip wheel while just brushing grass is the loudest thing ever. It only makes this awful noise when the anti-tipping wheel is brushing grass, not when it's not or the wheel is engaged. And yes it is adjustable, but if you set it too high so the heel doesn't brush rough length grass it tip over super easy on anything other than perfectly flat ground. It needs to be re-done with a better fitting sprocket. It also lacks good traction so it can be difficult to steer going down hills, like really difficult. However the ease of switching it to manual makes this a solvable issue. One other tweak could be making it less reactive, at speed it turns way too quickly. Overall it's great though and if that anti-tip wheel gets quieted down I'd add another star.
I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately I have to give it a 1-star rating. Since I bought it 18 months ago; I have to return it twice to get a replacement. Connection failures on inserting a fully charged battery meant it wouldn't power on. I received the latest model in December and a fully charged battery lasts about 3.5 hours. I don't use the remote anymore as frankly I don't trust the cart not to tip over going up hills. It doesn't handle hills well both from a steadiness perspective but also struggles up hills without manual guidance (and pushing) I don't usually write reviews but this is not a cheap investment and I need Bag Boy to do better with this product. Other reviews have mentioned lack of practical design like phone and score card holders. I agree with sentiment but I could have overlooked that if the product did the basics well.
