Supe easy install. Folds up out of the way if needed. Not great for anything real heavy to be put in there but that is fine with me. The only thing I docked was bang for buck. I believe it is expensive for what you get but it is made in America and I'm willing to pay a little more with a company I trust.
I have seen plenty of cheap versions of bed covers that can get the job done. After spending a weekend in Phoenix Arizona I am beyond satisfied with the choice to go with the bakflip cover. The toolbox was such a great add on to organize all necessities will camping or just tooling around.
Decent under Tonneau Toolbox. It holds what I need it to hold. For the price I thought it would be a little more heavy duty and bigger than it is. Overall pleased with it, I have a place to keep tie down straps, gloves, folding shovel, tactics hatchet, ...
I bought this back in August but my truck didn't arrive til the end of September. The Bakbox shipped next day just as described, and upon initial inspection, all looked good. Finally, almost 2 months later I got to install it, along with the Bakflip MX4 tonneau! Installation was simple only taking about 10 minutes, and it turned out just as I had hoped. I don't plan on putting a lot of heavy, or large items in it, so I like the smaller size (as compared to bigger, truck bed toolboxes). I particularly like that it doesn't go all the way to the floor, so I still have the full length of the bed to slide longer items all the way to the back. So, at this point, I can't give a long term review, but initially, I am pleased with it and fully expect it to work out as I expected. So, for now I will give it 4 stars, but I suspect it will end up being more like 5 stars in time...
Works as advertised. Easy install. Only issue was some damage assuming from shipping on the underside of one of the aluminum panels. Not visible unless folded so not a huge issue, but still disappointing for an expensive product to arrive damaged. Rails also appeared scratched out of the box. Also not visible unless folded.
So, first I've owned one before and was not 100% happy than either. With that said it good because you can still load your full truck bed by a qtr pallet of plywood or and timber's or items of length. The box its self is made about 2” too short and also need a brace between the the truck and the box brackets and simple fix on both but not yet fixed again on my now second box. So it has a place, just to expensive and under designed. USMC/USAF Ret. God Bless
The concept is great for this tool box, but I wish it had a lid. No matter which type of cover you have, it must be fully opened to access the box. Admittedly this is simpler with the roll top, but what I dislike most is that there is no cover or lid separately for the tool box. It gets water in it when it is raining, and If I'm carrying a load, and have the tonneau top open things in the tool box would blow out while driving. Therefore, I must empty the tool box whenever I have a load that requires keeping the tonneau open.
Received a new bakflip mx4 cover due to warranty issue. Well they redesigned it and now the bakbox 2 doesn't work with it. I spent $400 on this is shouldn't have to pay to get one that works with the cover I had
It works great around town but it did not hold up offroad. While driving on rough terrain, the box came loose and fell into the truck bed while loaded with approximately 100 pounds of recovery gear. Well below the 200-pound limit. The brackets are easily bent and deformed. I am disappointed as I love the hardcover. I am waiting to hear back on my return request.
This bakbox 2 is just about worthless. I had the whole thing fall down twice. The first time was following the directions, which were not right, then after watching video installation the center portion fell. i had to drill new holes because the the factory ones did not line up. Altogether this was a bad buy for $289. Really does not hold half the weight is says it will hold. If you just plan on storing towels or very, very lightweight stuff, this is prefect besides the falling issues. If you try the 250lbs and evenly distribute it, it will not hold up. I am going to have to install bolts through the front to keep this thing together. This is Junk if you ask me!!!! I would give it no stars if it would let me.
