Sturdy, but Not 1" as advertised.
The bar is a perfect size. I needed a longer bar then standard 5' length for my squat rack. I had already invested in 300lbs of standard sized steel plates. So, Olympic sized bar was and still is out of the question. Unfortunately, this bar is NOT 1" where the plates get loaded, so all of the clamps I have slide right off. As a temporary fix, I use bat handle tape inside of the clamps which work ok. Ultimately I ended up purchasing a 24 MM clamp set, hopefully that is a better solution.
