I wanted a way to squat and do pullups at home again since my gym was closed due to Covid and found this on Walmart.com. Honestly I wasn't expecting much for this low price. However I was pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness and quality of this unit. It was well-packed with everything wrapped. The parts felt solid with a good-quality finish. And all the holes lined up and it fit together perfectly (which is often a problem on low-cost gym equipment). So assembly was easy. The only thing not totally solid are the vertical pegs in the rear for holding weights; their attachment isn't as secure and they are a little floppy. And it didn't really come with "assembly instructions", but just an exploded parts diagram that was hard to read. But assembly was self-explanatory so it was no problem. So those are very minor nit-picks. It also came with four strange-looking expanding bolts (like drywall anchors) which weren't on the diagram, which I figured out were probably floor anchors to fit the four hold-down eyelets around the bottom. But it seems to work just fine freestanding. Overall I'm very please with this purchase and have been bragging to my co-workers about my new home-gym accessory!
For price, this is 5 stars. If you can live without the safety of power racks and safety bars, this is good enough especially for limited spaces. It works well to do squats, overhead presses, flat bench. I do enjoy the grip of the pullup bar. Doing pullups does case it to shake, but it's still sturdier than I expected. You can store 2 inch olympic size weight plates in the corner. This is part of my garage gym due to Covid 19.
Took awhile to get here due to the covid-19 shelter in place but it got here when they said it would. Was very easy to assemble and pretty sturdy for just a single stand design. I was able to use this stand for toes to bars though knees have to be bent at the bottom. Held my weight and swing just fine. Can be weighted down to help with rocking. I got this mainly for barbell squats and bench press and it does the job nicely. Great value for the price!
I was looking and looking for a squat stand and was so close to buying a titan fitness one I decided to purchase this due to the price and the reviews i Was scared it would wobble but no it didnt. If you need help putting it up check YouTube
I didn't know what to expect when I first saw the price, I suspected it was going to be low quality but would be sufficient enough for my home gym. After assembling it and using it for the last 2 weeks I'm shocked at the quality. It is amazing and would hold up against any of the equipment at my local gyms. Very impressed at this and highly recommend it.
Although this took a long time to ship, i get it cause gyms are closed and equipment is in high demand. I recieved this and put it together by myself in about an hour. Instructions are basic but if you look closely at the diagram (pay attentions to where holes are in the picture) youll figure this out no problem. So far its proven to be a solid rack. The red and black version looks sharp and the numbers etched in the posts are very clean and precise looking giving this stand a quality finish. Oh, and at $120 bucks you cant beat this.
When I purchased this it was to fill an immediate need. It was only going to be a temporary rack until we moved this summer. Now that its assembled and in place, Im thinking I have no need to buy a new rack. Its sturdy, it doesn't sway when I do normal pull-ups. The J-hooks have some sloppy welding but the welds are complete and are holding 300 pounds without any scary signs of failure. overall for the price, I don't think I could have expected better quality then what was delivered.
I'm honestly surprised at the sturdiness of this rack for this price. After all the gyms closed from the pandemic, I decided I wanted to build some type of home gym and this was the most affordable rack I could find online. Even when I do pull-ups, the rack doesn't seem to shake. Before buying, I spent several months looking for racks and I wanted to buy a budget friendly one, and I'm happy I bought this one. I've had this for a month so far, and have had no issues.
The "instructions" are terrible. It's a single, faded page with a picture and some arrows! LOL. I had read other reviews before purchasing this. though, so I was prepared to essentially go it alone on the install. It's really not hard to set up on your own, but you are definitely going to need your own tools to get everything tight enough. As far as the function goes, you're going to need to anchor this rack to the ground to do any type of kipping moves from the pull-up bar. It does come with some concrete anchors, but I'm not willing to make that level of commitment in my basement for a $90 rack. I use weight plates on the front and the back, and that does help keep it more stable when doing toes-to-bar or kipping pull-ups, but I only weigh 150lbs, so that's something to keep in mind if you're 200+. This thing will turn into a rocking chair if not anchored! Ring rows are out of the question, too, unless you have at least your body weight in weight plates to put on the back of the rack. The rack itself also seems to give/shake a little bit with 150+lbs on J hooks (the immediately started chipping) as well. I have a hard time believing that this thing can really hold 500lbs without collapsing in on itself like a dying star. All complaints aside, this is a good entry-level rack for someone that just needs to find a rack for the short term. I'll probably need to replace this rack with something more sturdy in the next year or two (faster if it starts to rust), but honestly, I'm just happy that I found something that I can make work for me right now, and it does work for me... for now. Also worth noting that this is a HulkFit rack, not one that's rebranded as Everyday Essentials.
The shipping was horrific. They threw the box in front of my door which was annoying because it was blocking it. I found two washers on the ground because there were holes in the box. It is also narrower than what Olympic racks are supposed to be so Im going to have trouble loading the bar without it tipping over. The welding is unspeakably terrible. It literally broke before I even put it together I was just screwing in the bolt and it literally broke for no reason with no stress on it. That alone is enough for 1 star because the quality of the metal doesnt matter at all when the welding is going to break before you load 1/10 of the capacity for the metal. Why would they chose to spend all their money on good steel and use welding weaker than elmers glue? I dont know they are lucky I am not returning this piece of junk. If you want a great cheap rack buy from cap barbell. It is an amazing rack for less money and Ive loaded over 5 plates on it. The only reason I chose this is because it doesnt fit in my new gym.
