definitely upsize. I went up one size. it stretches however, for me the waist was still small. but using these indoors so it does the job. yes the gel padding works well.

these run small. also, they are shorter than expected. I returned them.

All three of my purchases so far have been excellent. As a Tennis Professional for over 50 years I’ve had several surgeries for skin precancerous procedures. I now wear only spf type clothing and Baleaf fit and materials are perfect. The cut is loose enough to fit my needs. Will always buy clothing that is made to last and washes well. So far I’m very pleased.

As a motorcycle passenger these shorts could not solve the problem of an uncomfortable and narrow motorcycle seat. I am 5'4, 120lbs and really wanted these padded shorts to perform a miracle, since they were highly recommended by our motorcycle friends; Baleaf specifically. These are otherwise well made, yet the padding makes them bulky and hot.
