While I've never understood their motto Plump When You Cook Them because meat shrinks when you cook it . Ballpark doesn't shrink and the taste is definitely delicious. I only eat beef hot dogs and BallPark is 1 of only 2 I ever buy. My favorite addition to a hot dog is sauerkraut
These hot dogs have always tasted like a quality meat these dogs are full of flavor. plump up and cook nicely. I cook mine in an air fryer with temperature probe set on pork. this gives me a perfect cook for a fast single or multiple dog cook. I have discovered a great lime enhanced meat only chili for perfect chili dogs. I had used the cheap buns for years, but have upgraded to a higher quality bun.
I get these specifically for one recipe. I take flour tortillas, a bottle of mustard and some cole slaw and steam the hotdogs until they split open. I take one hot dog, lay it in a tortilla, squirt some mustard on it, throw on some cole slaw and wrap that baby up and proceed to devour it. It is GREAT! These hot dogs (beef) work beautifully for this.
After sedlling dogs for 12 years I know what the hot dog consuming public likes MOST. A very popular hot dog asked for by name often and my clients requewsted these hot dogs most of the time. My hot dog cart was a regular sight in Granite Ctiy, IL and we featured many events in and around Granite City, aIL
Sometimes you just need a hot dog- these are the ones to buy when the craving hits. I usually microwave them, but today I'm going to cut them up with a can of baked beans and doctor that up with some onion, ketchup and mustard. I'll bake them until there's a nice crust on top. Versatile for all kinds of recipes.
I was really craving some grilled hamburgers, but since I don't have a grill, these were the next best thing. They cooked up really good in the air fryer and were juicy. They were tasteless out of the box, but as long as you season them up to your liking, there's no problem with them. I cooked them two at a time straight from the freezer, Straight from the freezer ( No need to defrost before Cooking) No need to defrost before Cooking. Be careful not to overcook them because then they'll come out really dry. I messed up one time like that. I would recommend them and I will buy again.
The texture of these hot dogs is great, and they fit the buns perfectly for a cookout. However, they are just way too salty for my taste. It overpowers the beef flavor.
I do not know what ballpark has done to this product because I've eaten these my whole life and always loved them but this past year or so they taste a bit different and the texture is a bit different. due to this I don't love them like I used to. I will probably still buy them again but I'm about to search for a better hot dog
I was craving chili cheese dogs. We used to get Ball Park brand cause they tasted great %26 would plump up when you cooked them. In fact, Ball Park used to advertise that they “plump when you cook ‘em”. Well, they don’t plump anymore! And the flavor…terribly bland! What happened? Am so very disappointed %26 won’t be buying them anymore. So very sad.
Dishonor! Dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow! I'm actually quite angry. SHRINK-FLATION IS A DIRTY TACTIC!! Walmart and Tyson Foods need to do better. You'd better count how many hot dogs you actually get in your package now because the pack that I just got via Pickup only had SEVEN hot dogs in it, and no big yellow "8 Count" ribbon printed. Yes, it was this item as I scanned the barcode in my app and it came back to this one advertising "8 Count," but apparently that is FALSE ADVERTISING. I would return the them on principle if a half hour drive to the grocery store and back was worth $5.48 and one too many hot dog buns going to waste because the buns come in packs of 8, TYSON..... 8-packs are the industry standard, TYSON. (I would include a pic of the 7 hot dogs in the sealed package, but I didn't notice until I already had 3 on the grill and was wondering where the 4th was to make 'half the pack'.)
