**Five Stars. Unironically.** Let me be clear about something: Banquet calls this a "meal." Banquet is lying to you. This is not a meal. This is a snack that dreams of being a meal. This is a meal for ants. I ate four of these in one sitting and I would have kept going if I had more freezer space and a stronger sense of self-worth. But here is the thing. I am still giving it five stars, because I have cracked the code, and I am feeling generous. Is there gristle? Yes. Is it beef? The box says so and I choose to believe it. Is it ham? No. Is it quinoa? Absolutely not, and thank you for that. Is it vegetarian? It is not, and I respect it for committing to that position. Now. Here is how you do this. Bake it in the oven. Do not microwave it. I do not care how hungry you are. The oven is non-negotiable. Take the top crust off before it goes in. Set it aside like the treasure it is. Eat the filling. The filling is fine. It is warm and salty and vaguely beefy, with occasional gristle that reminds you this is a dollar product and not a quinoa bowl from a place with exposed brick and a chalkboard menu. Manage your expectations accordingly. Once the filling is gone, push that top crust back down into the empty tray. Mix it with the bottom crust. What you now have is a warm, flaky, buttery situation that is genuinely excellent. The crust is why you are here. The filling is just the opening act. If Banquet somehow made a... beef pocket thing... that was just the crust, I would buy that instead. Make peace with that and you will be very happy, six pot pies deep, on a Tuesday night.
My husband loves these pot pies. I’m not complaining because when I’m tired it’s an easy meal that he loves. I take them out of their container and spray oil on them then put them back in, stops them from sticking and they pop right out. I don’t care for them cooked in the microwave so I use the oven.
I like these big pot pies they are very good the chicken ones are good too but I like the beef ones better there's a lot of extra things you can do to these too you can cook some extra vegetables and open this up and put the vegetables and then take them put some brown gravy over top of it and make a bigger meal out of it
I remember these beef pies from the early 60's when they cost $0.50 and were all my roommate and I could afford at times. We collected glass soft drink bottles from the roadside and sold them to buy food to hold us over a couple days until payday. Nostalgia and good taste still.
I like these beef pot pies, they are easy to just pop in the microwave. The taste is delicious and they have plenty of veggies and beef in them. These are great for people on a budget, with groceries so expensive these pot pies are something I'll have on my grocery list a lot
Although I don't eat these often as they are rather fattening, they are a great value for just a little over $1.00. Especially with prices so high right now, they can really help stretch your budget with a side of veggies and/or fruit. The crust is especially good!
These are very tasty, inexpensive, and easy to prepare. Just poke a few holes in the crust, place the pie on a microwave safe plate, and zap in the microwave for three minutes at full power. Take it out and let it cool for a few minutes and you will have a delicious meal. These meat pies hit every criteria - cost, taste, ease of preparation.
They're "cheap eats" at $1, so I can see why people would buy them, because that's why I bought it. However, the taste %26 texture are not very good. There's maybe ⅛ of a cup of gravy with 1 tablespoon of veg ( peas) and little "meat" cubes. Was it's the worst thing I've ever eaten, no, but would I buy it again and waste a dollar, again no.
Smaller and Smaller This Banquet Pot Pie over the years, Bigger and Bigger the Chemical Amounts added to the Food Product though! (%26) Starting to be unrecognizable from a couple Decades ago!( Wouldn't it be soooo nice just to get something to eat!)( However the level of GOBBLE UP EVERYTHING GREED of all Mega Corporations is truly, truly Grotesque!)
Much as I love the pot pies they don’t taste the same anymore I don’t like microwave pot pies I love them in the oven and not in paper bowls for the oven so please go back to the oven bake
