I wasn't looking for gourmet. I was looking for warm, reliable, end-of-day victory—and the Banquet Chicken Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes delivered exactly that. This meal doesn't pretend to be fancy. It shows up like an old friend, pats you on the back, and says, “I got this.” ⏱️ READY FAST, SATISFYING IMMEDIATELY Pop it in the microwave and minutes later you've got: Crispy-ish chicken with real gravy energy Mashed potatoes that understand their assignment A comforting aroma that signals the end of responsibilities It's the definition of no-drama dinner. 🍗 FLAVOR: NOSTALGIA SERVED HOT The chicken hits that familiar, savory sweet spot—breaded, hearty, and unapologetically classic. The gravy ties everything together like a cozy blanket. The potatoes? Smooth, warm, and doing exactly what mashed potatoes should do. This meal tastes like snow days, late nights, and not having to cook. 🧠 PORTION THAT MAKES SENSE It's not a feast—it's a fix. Perfect for lunch, late dinner, or when you need something filling without committing to dishes, cleanup, or effort.
The only thing I'd change is maybe instead of corn as a side, you might want to think of replacing corn with something like peas or carrots for those of us who cannot consume corn for various medical reasons.
I crave these country fried chicken dinners from Banquet. The country gravy and chicken taste really surprisingly good. Corn and mashed potatoes are pretty good too.
Been buying Banquet for years My late Mother had dementia andafe it hard to cook. She loved these dinners and today we still buy them when we need a quick, healthy meal
The only complaint I have is the chicken steak was a little tough. I might I had to add more time then suggested as the chicken steak was cold. So added 15 seconds twice. So, when order again I would see if I cooked it too much or what. Corn, mashed potatoes and gravy was really good.
It's a cheap TV dinner but it is good. I put a couple pats of butter in the mashed when I open to stir %26 a touch of garlic powder. It's perfect when finished cooking. Chicken was little tough in spots this time but hasn't always been. BUT... you can't beat the value for the money. Fantastic! Also preparation is quick %26 easy. A child could easily do this.
Fried chicken and mashed potatoes is a popular meal, especially for men and boys. To make it a really healthy meal, add a green vegetable or fruit salad As a frozen meal it is quick to cook in the microwave, no preparation or clean up.
on paper the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and goodies all seems good but to tell you the truth this item reminds me of the TV dinners we got in the 60s tin foil trays had to put them in the oven they were runny 😕 just got the shivers thinking about it
I'm not exaggerating when I say there was NO chicken. It was a bread patty and that's it. I cut it up and actually took each piece apart.....NO chicken, jut breading. I hope it was just a strange processing goof up. I only bought one so won't know unless I buy again. Good flavor breading though...haha.
Well you decided to substitute chicken strips for one of the chicken fried steak meals. Not even close to being the same meal. This is why I'm seriously considering doing away with walmart plus, you substitute whatever you want as long as you get the money.
