Now that I'm cooking for one, it doesn't pay to make a lot of food so this banquet meal is just right you get two pieces of chicken and it's very good. It's not dried out and you get the mashed potatoes which taste like mashed potatoes. They're very very good so if you're down to one or maybe just two of you now, kids are gone. This is a fast meal and it's good. Make a veggie and some fruit on the side. It's very good meal for the night.
A few days back this is what I had for dinner. It's good to find like a two piece. Three piece is good is better but a two-piece dinner just like this one here that I had the other day for dinner. It was good. I don't have to order chicken on the side in the pizza joint when I order a pizza out at the Pizzeria you get four pieces in a garlic breadstick and a small little thing of slaw and it's $11 it's ridiculous for that $11. I can get a little stack of these if they were two bucks apiece get five of them for $10 tax $11. You got five meals for five days instead of paying $11 for a four piece dinner from a Pizzeria and you eat the whole thing anyways in one meal but doing it like that with this stuff in the microwave it's OK cause I mean I buy the other stuff. Also the chicken breast the breaded jumbo chicken breast. I think it's mega. I think it's banquet. I don't think it's Swanson and I think it's banquet six in a bag like six bucks those are really good pre-breaded and seasoned real chicken breast. Awesome chicken sandwich.
This is the closest thing to the boxed Banquet fried chicken I grew up with. I haven't been able to find it any longer in the box but this taste the same and brings a lot of memories of childhood. One down side is that you have to use an oven and here in Texas that can be an issue during the summers! I've never tried it in an air fryer.
Sometimes I don't want to cook, these are actually not that bad. If you crisp the chicken a little it's almost as good as KFC or Church's chicken. Definitely prefer the darker meat drumsticks and thighs and are more consistent than Hungryman fried chicken meals where sometimes you get weird big chunks of dry white meat. Lots of breaded skin, more than most others, best part in my books.
I liked the chicken but the potatoes were cardboardy taste. I stir in a few frozen peas half way through the microwaving. Helps alot. Sometimes stir in corn or green beans. Crispy chicken skin. I sprinkle pepper and pink salt on both. I like the convenience of not frying chicken. I guess I need an airfryer. Ha!
I hate that most of these frozen dinners say you can't cook it in a toaster oven because that's all I have, but it's a convection oven. So I just put the chicken directly on the rack and put the potatoes wrapped up in a small, oval corning dish. I wish it included a veggie, but I have to make my own to go with it. The chicken comes out perfect, nice I crispy.
I like this meal, especially since it's hard to find 1 with real fried chicken pieces, but it's a little overpriced, Banquet. %26Please bring back the family size box of fried chicken. It disappeared, at least from my small store in south GA! Walmart needs to increase their product choices in ALL stores, not just the bigger stores in richer areas!
It's an OK product but for the price you get two small pieces of chicken and mashed potatoes that's it. This would be good for a little snack or tied over but for the prices at the chicken places now for another dollar you can get two bigger pieces of chicken, fresh and hot and crispy and a side You know for five dollars plus tax
Everytime ConAgra changes the packaging for something, they've changed the recipe. This time it's the Banquet Mega Meats fried chicken dinner. I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased this dinner for my son, and one (if not both) of the pieces of chicken are not fully battered. They look like someone has been pulling off and eating bits of the fried batter as the meals go down the production line. When I received yesterday's order, I noticed that the box art has changed -- a red "36g protein" banner now adorns the thin sides of the box. I checked the ingredients, and there's less cream and fewer bits of green onion in the potatoes, but the nutrition info panel was not updated. If you like your mashed potatoes practically flavorless, then I'm sure you will enjoy the new recipe.
Must have got this as a substitute. All I can say is I usually don't mind Banquet dinners, but after trying this one, I'm going to have to give it a hard pass. I'm not a thigh, leg person. Sorry, Banquet, maybe if you served white meat chicken with this, wings %26 breast you might sale more.
